Lost magic, shouts, and scroll usage

Hi guys!

 

I don't know if anyone can help me with this but Skyrim is the first game I have ever played and I am enjoying it very much. Other than the Nightcaller glitch, which still doesn't seem to have been fixed in patch 5, all seems to be going well except that I am no longer able to use som of my magic spells, all scrolls, and most shouts.

 

Now I will admit to having used a trainer one time which gave me 10 dragon souls. Those did absolutely nothing and even though I now have 14 shouts only whirlwind sprint and unrelenting force actually work. I abandoned the trainer the first time I used it as it took the fun out of the game. That was in December. January and February have not seen any problems other than shouts. The lost magic and scrolls began last week after installing patch 5.

 

The only thing I have added this year was the Tytanis 0.52 mod. I tried disabling that but got a message saying some of the objects in my game would be missing so I reenabled the mod. Everything points to patch 5 being the culprit but I doubt that because others would also have complained if it were the case.

 

Any ideas?

Hey man,

I think that u might not have unlocked any other shouts yet...

There are 2 steps to unlocking a shout to be able to use it.

1. You have to learn a word from the shout, most of the time from one of the walls that make everything go black for a sec in a dungeon.

2. You have to kill a dragon and get a dragon shouts. But here is where i think u may not have completed the step, you actually have to use the souls on each word to be able to use it.

 

U might already know all that but i cant think y it wouldnt work otherwise...

1. I have amassed loads of these words and they appear as a long list in my Shouts category. I'm at level 34 now so it's only normal that I should have completed many of these.

2. I have killed 4 dragons so far and the amount of dragon souls displayed is 14. 10 of those came from using a trainer although they never worked.

 

To be honest, I feel pretty certain the trainer corrupted the game or maybe the Tytanis mod is conflicting with something. I was hoping someone may be able to tell me how to edit an ini file to repair this or give me a code to type into the console. The only other solution is probably to start a new game using a new character.
