Alduin "created" Mehrunes Dagon?

Well, some poster in there also pointed out that he didn't create Dagon, but rather turned someone else into Dagon. Like a transformation. That sub-reddit, as the posters in that thread even point out, should be taken with a massive grain of salt. They view their lore discussions as interpreting the lore, or legends, of the Elder Scrolls series. They don't always discuss things that are 100% confirmed. Either way, I suppose it is an interesting thought. Thanks for sharing.

In defense of the posters, Bethesda doesn't really bother explaining these things because this is exactly what they wants us to do. Pretty much everything that isn't present ingame is open to interpretation.

Don't trust Reddit. Trust this: https://www.imperial-library.info/content/fight-one-eating-birth-dagon

I never said to "trust" Reddit. I cautioned the OP to remember that that Reddit page is not meant to be a definitive source for the Lore of TES. The sub-Reddit itself has a disclaimer saying so.

As for the link you shared, if I recall correctly there is some debate on how canon some of Michael Kirkbride's writings really are. I would also take that with a grain of salt, regrardless of the source.

Also, that's probably the first time I've ever read the "F-Word" in any of the lore writing I've read in regard to TES. The language in that whole thing just didn't seem to fit at all with the setting or even other writings within the series. That's likely one of the numerous reasons why Kirkbride's work is debated by so many people.
