Clineluck
Running into a bit of an issue while trying to update NVSE. I'm trying to enter the GetNVSEVersion command into the console command menu on the main menu, but every time I get to the "S" in it the command is erased completely. In fact I am unable to enter the letter S at all. No clue how to fix this and google has not come up with a result so far.
dubiousintent
Sounds like either your "S" key has been remapped in Windows to something that erases to the beginning of the line, or your keyboard is having a mechanical problem. * If your keyboard has a plug connection at the back of the keyboard itself, check that is fully plugged in. Unplug and re-seat if necessary. (If it is directly wired in, then skip to the next step.) * Then check that the plug into the back of your computer is solidly seated as well. (They do work loose.) If you have another keyboard, try using that to see if the problem is specific to the keyboard. If not, then the problem is software. The "console" is supposed to ignore any game key mappings. That leaves a Windows key mapping as the cause, or some mod or background program that is directly affecting the console. You can use an app designed to show keystrokes for Streaming videos, like the free "PxKeystrokes For Screencasts" to see what your console is getting when you strike each key. (View the video to get a better idea how it works and should look.) If your "s" key is generating something other than "s", then you have to figure out what is generating that key sequence. You might try typing "nvse" in lowercase, just to see if the Shift or CapsLock key is mapped to something. (Pretty sure the console ignores case.) -Dubious- Edited May 15, 2017 by dubiousintent

(Pretty sure the console ignores case.) -Dubious- Yes it definitely ignores case sensitivity , as does the engine in general. Case sensitive is only used for the human reading benefit. That was my first thought of accidently hitting control key or shift was doing something funky.
ddjspro
Just type getnvseversion somewhere on the desktop and copy and paste it to the console command
