WeFellOut
It's actually 256 because the counting starts at zero, not at one, but that amount has been reduced with one because the last remaining plug-in slot should never be taken for reasons I've meanwhile forgotten and don't feel like looking up again right now. Yeah it's to do with the hexadecimal addressing space. It's the same reason why IPv4 Internet Networking octets don't got to 255 either. The last number is used as a broadcasting address that allows another node to identify it as a network (or bunch of mods in our case), so it's like a back boundary marker. LocknLoadJessie
I'm using Nexus Mod Manager Community Edition and it has worked flawlessly for me thus far. At the bottom right of the NMM are listed these numbers: Total Plugins: 255 / Active Plugins: 220 (251) / Total Mods: 252 / Installed Mods: 252 / Active Mods: 252 As stated by previous members, the limit I should look for in order not to exceed it is Active Plugins. But I'm puzzled because it states 220 active plugins but there's 251 in brackets just besides... Can someone clue me in as which of the two is the right number? Blinxys
NMM is looking at theMods Tab for: Total Mods 536 | Installed Mods 531 | Active Mods 530Total is absolute number installedInstalled are Not DisabledActive is Not Disabled or Never Been Enabled For Plugins Tab:Total Plugins: 280 | Active Plugins: 248Total is Absolute # of esm, esl, esp it sees in Data Folder*Active is: ones that are ON <- number of key interest To answer about the disparity in my numbers, much merging of installed mods and several disabled (used just for resources). :pirate:* see my recent response post leading me to suspect even this number should be below 255. NOTE: The whole unlimited through esl's is a flawed concept on several levels imho. :nuke:
