Disappearing Items

For a settlement, I needed to create a generator for a water pump. For that I needed copper, and from what I found online the best way you can get copper is to destroy the light posts in sanctuary and scrap the fuses you get from it. the problem with that is, the game never lets me get more than one fuse. On top of that, When I scrap the fuses, I don't get any of the items. Why is this Happening.

You don't scrap the junk. That is deleting it from your inventory. Put all items from the "Junk" tab on your inventory into the Workbench (by pressing R when looking at the bench and pressing T to drop all junk items). Junk items are then used automatically, depending on their base components (copper, lead, etc). You don't need to "scrap" the items themselves.

 

Does that make sense?
