nik0li
I'm trying to make my own follower NPC.. I used the old Oblivion kit at a rather beginner level, and it is the same with this kit. I have tried to find some tutorials or guides to making NPCs, but there seem to be NONE around aside from the one that basically just shows you how to make a braindead body and shove it in the game. If someone can point me in the direction of some good guides, I would be grateful. So.. question #1 was: Guides for making NPCs and Followers - are there any good ones out there right now? question #2: I want to make a follower who will dual wield, but also cast some basic spells when it feels the need (ie, firebolt). What are the basic settings I need to choose to make this happen? So far, I have only been able to get them to either only use spells, or only attack with one 1-handed weapon.. not dual wield. question #3: I can't get the dang game to use the tint masks chosen for the NPC. I tried that ctrl+f4 thing, and it didn't work (it did get matching skin tone.. but no makeup or warpaint). How do you do this? Thank you for your time, and any help you might be able to give me. nik0li
As far as the follower goes, let me be a little more clear.. I want to create a follower with the following criteria: 1) Be able to simply speak to them and have them follow me, OR - hire them for 500g like the other hirelings. (I have tried to duplicate a hireling, but the dialogue doesn't work in game for me)2) I want the follower to specialize in 1-handed weapons, but dual wield. I would also like them to cast a basic spell like Firebolt. (So far, I have only been able to make them either cast spells only, or they only use 1 weapon.. not both)3) Trying to figure out how to make the game use the tint masks for my npc. The skin color works, but it doesn't use the makeup/warpaint. If anyone could guide me in doing this... please, please do.
RbtRvltin
I feel your pain... The only thing I've been able to do is renamed npcs. Copying them doesn't work... All dialogue is associated wwith quests. That's the problem. The DB initiates; part of a quest called DBSanctuary conversation. Try creating a new quest, like in the tutorial on the website. I think this is the only way to do it. ;-)
