Why do so many people want to play as anime-esque characters on Skyrin

Always wondered about the anime mods. Well about the legality of it. For example can't make a mod that has music from a game/move/tv sow, etc for copy right issues. Yet someone can create a Naruto weapon and armor pack on here.

Maybe yes, importing and creating anime item (already existent as item or acessories in anime series) can become a copyright infrangment

Its a somewhat vague area, but I can guarantee that anime companies would not have an issue with it.

We're talking about a country which has a twice yearly convention, attended by literally tens of thousands of people, devoted to the selling of derivative works (very frequently pornographic in nature) that would cause companies like Disney to slap a lawsuit all over everyone involved.

I don't mind animee pllay. I just want the g ame I'm intending to play be what I get it for. I prefer Skyrim to be more "life like" immersion instead of animee-ish cartoony. I know a lot of most everything falls outside the realm of real and life like. But If i want full die hard interaction in animee, I'll reload one of the Final Fantasy line.

And yet, no one is forcing you to use any of the "anime style" mods, so why does it even matter to you?

No one is forcing any of us to do anything. Why does any of this matter to any of us? How about because we all want a game we can enjoy to our own liking. I didn't intend my reply to be a dig or jab at anyones playstyle. I stated I like anime. You can hardly get away from Dev cartoon in this game. a lot of graphic content is very cartoonish.

I just did a Nexus search for anime and didn't really find a whole lot of content. If we had an Oscuro or Mad Mart overhaul (ES4) to completely change it all to animee, at least within reason, I don't think it would be all that bad. In fact, It might even be a more true type game. With all the dwemer contraptions and the way weapons are sticky taped to your back, its very hard to put them into perspective.

Call the Anime version Skyrime

And to whoever stated about Anime companies not having an issue with it, contact Smith and Tinker about their version of Mechwarrior 5, and why the company FASA had to close up shop. Its a huge deal to all the Anime creators and artists. Its litterally worth millions on each artistic creation/character.

Actually, this is a completely different situation (I'm quite well versed in the event you are referencing, actually). Mods for games like this are essentially doujin works, and since there are entire conventions and stores devoted to derivative doujin works, no, there won't be a big deal made of it.

Not trying to threadjack too far here, but that case has nothing to do with the actual Anime company, and everything to do with the US company that held licensing rights for North America vs the original company in Japan. FASA got their rights from the Japanese company, not realizing Harmony Gold had rights for North America, and it caused all kinds of mess which took many years to try and get ironed out in court. This does reflect fairly well into the "Anime creators" argument, though, as the original Japanese company had no problem whatsoever granting their license to a second company, and all the legal wrangling ensued because of a North American company.

FASA closed up for other reasons (mainly financial), the lawsuit and such just was more publicly visible at the time. FanPro games, which evolved into Catalyst Game Labs, now holds the IP for their major titles, and still is producing them to this day (they wrapped up a major story arc last year and have been laying out the next arcs in the universe).

Well, let me guess... Anime embeds the most developed erotic content of all animation styles... And there are lots of users who seek such a content...

Yeah and it's disturbing... personally it doesn't has its place in a game like Skyrim, I was getting sick and tired of seeing mods like that in Oblivion and now I'm getting sick again with Skyrim... what's with anime perverts anyway? I've never thought people playing with Elder Scrolls would be obsessed with anime women (mostly half naked ones), I just don't get it, how they can perceive anime characters in Skyrim? it's beyond me...
