FlyIgnite
Sorry if this is the wrong place to put this but I need this question answered badly. I am currently getting my new mobo and CPU installed and going to pick it later today and the geek squad guy said he was going to test it when I come pick it up Will he use any of my browsers or surf through my apps for the testing? I know this sounds stupid but it can get bad for me if he decides to use chrome or surf through my apps while my dad is with me.(very religious) So what will he do for the test? I need to plan ahead to prevent any bad situations from occurring. Edited May 22, 2017 by FlyIgnite
thePhunkiest
He probably won't. If I were in your situation I would do is make a second admin account for the computer, and just have him use that one to test. I'd also take a peek at the public user folder just to be sure. I've never worked retail IT, but as for his test, he'll probably just turn it on, make sure it isn't producing tons of heat, and of course, making sure that the OS won't freak out from the hardware change. That's what I'd do at my previous jobs.
iXenite
You could just uninstall the stuff you want to hide, and from there just delete chrome and use install Firefox or something. As long as you have a Google account associated with your Chrome browser I'm fairly certain you shouldn't lose your bookmarks. You could probably Google that to double check.
