OpenDorrPolicy
I haven't added any more mods to my game and the 34 mods I have been using worked yesterday. However when I went to load up my game today, I got an endless loading screen from the main menu. Anyone ever experience this before?
H4RDC0R3V1B3Z
Yeah, once or twice. It can happen occasionally. Alt-F4'ing out or Ctrl-Alt-Del and close the game's process, then try again. Failing that, you might have to load an earlier save.
OpenDorrPolicy
I've tried that, I've gone back to my save in the vault and nothing, I even tried starting a new game, also endless loading.
H4RDC0R3V1B3Z
Hmm, that typically works for me. Is everything up-to-date? Drivers, game version, mods, etc. And how many saves do you have in that particular game? I've seen a suggestion to delete all but the most-recent three then try to load it again. Unsure if that actually works, just a thing I came across while searching the issue. Obviously back them up first, just in case. Another suggestion is to Alt-Tab and change the game's priority to High in Task Manager. Ctrl-Alt-Del > Task Manager > Details tab > Select Fallout4.exe, right-click and Set priority to High. Again, just something I've seen mentioned. Worth a try. Edited May 24, 2017 by H4RDC0R3V1B3Z
MightyZ0G
endless loading screens can also have a really stupid cause that has nothing to do with your mods. if you have too many auto saves in your saves folder it will give an endless loading screen.make sure you know which save is the latest then delete all the older auto saves that you don't need. you can do this in windows or in the load menu in game before attempting to load a save (probably safest as you can see which saves you might want to keep). I had this stopping me from entering the metro station to rescue Valentine. deleted a load of saves I didn't need (auto and manual) and I was able to enter the metro station with no problems (apart from triggermen armed with submachineguns)
H4RDC0R3V1B3Z
I turned Autosave off. Having experienced save bloat in Skyrim, that caused crashes and longer load times, this was the first thing I did in Fallout 4. Figured it would be the same, as it's essentially the same game mechanically.
MightyZ0G
I turned off autosave for travel but kept it on for sleeping and in pipboy menu as a reminder to make a save and then delete the autosave otherwise I'd lose hours of play to silly mistakes or bad luck (with WRO virtually any explosion is game over, even at full health with combat armour) and if I forget to delete the auto saves I know how to fix the problem they cause
