MightyZ0G
ÃÂ I'd be interested to know when (and under what administration) that change took place. =0[.]o=ÃÂ UNICOR was founded in 1934. I don't know which administration gave them the military contracts but they have had them for at least 10 yearsWhere do people like you and poorlyaged come up with this crap? Is it like some fan fiction turned reality? A rebuttal isn't even needed. You just need to do 10 minutes worth of researching into ACC. poorlyaged was speaking from experience of US military organisation. I was pointing out that instead of the lowest bidder, Military equipment contracts go to UNICOR and prisoners in Federal prisons manufacture it.not fan fiction but real world.1 minute of research into UNICOR would have revealed that ;)
Omegacron
I'm leaning towards a base that houses a fictional Mechanized Cavalry division. Any power armor research that goes on there would likely be a joint project between that division and teams from the Army Applied Research Division based out of CIT. Does that sound about right? Oh, and do we have any information about which civilian companies designed the various power armor models? The wiki page mentions that West-Tek developed the original T-45 prototype, but what about the T-51 and T-60 models?
MightyZ0G
seeing as how Nuka Cola collaborated with the military to develop the Quantum X-01, you could probably get away with having any company from Fallout being involved in R&D.as long as you provide a back story with reasons for their involvement you should be ok.if it isn't covered one way or the other by lore then who can say that there wasn't a secret project involving Slocum Joe's or Red Rocket? the T-51 and T-60 were also developed by West-Tek according to the fallout wiki I read. Also the GSA has never been the Government Services administration. It's always been the General Services Administration. The ACC (Army Contract Command) is only one of several hundred agencies which work under the oversight of the GSA to get equipment, but the GSA (in conjunction with the GAO) has the authority to cancel or modify anything the ACC does. The Navy and Air Force also have agencies which award contracts, but which also work under the oversight of the GSA.

I was under the impression that Nuka-Cola developed the Quantum X-01 by enhancing an X-01 prototype with their new quantum process. I would imagine they got the X-01 through their military connections. I could be wrong, though - did they actually design the X-01 series armor altogether? X-01 is Bethesda's name for "Advanced Power Armor" which was developed by the Enclave. However, in Fallout 4 it is described as being developed by the US military in the very late part of the war. As for the Nuka Cola Corporation and their involvement in power armor, it's my understanding that they didn't develop any of the power armor. Their close ties to the US government granted them access to military technology, which included power armor. They used the power armor to help advertise their soft drinks. Vim! Pop Incorporated had the same idea and had a suit of T-51 power armor painted with their product logo. Neither of those of companies made their own suits of power armor as far as I'm aware. MightyZ0G
in the Nuka World DLC there is a suit of Quantum X-01 power armor which was a normal X-01 that Nuka Cola enhanced. you can also have a conversation with John-Caleb Bradberton in which you find out that he had very strong ties with the military and worked on developments for other things including the Nuka Nuke (Quantum Cola enhanced Fat Man)

However, the Quantum X-01 doesn't actually have different stats than normal X-01 suits. It's only real difference is the paint job (and a legendary effect). The Wiki even points this out, as well as pointing out it was for advertising purposes. It is simply another example of the bizarre world Pre-War America was in the Fallout universe.
