sethrilea
Guys could someone please make a mod that builds settlements and doesn't conflict with Scrap Everything? It seems pointless if I can make a settlement nearly anywhere but still have to put up with trash and debris. Thanks.
H4RDC0R3V1B3Z
That isn't any mod's fault. It's how Bethesda have made areas, to save on data. Certain items are "baked" into the area, meaning they are all one entity. You'll notice which are, if you open the console and try to select them. It will return a message with "non ref av object" and you can't select or manipulate it in any way. To do what you're asking, would require somebody to go through the entire map (or a particular area) to separate them. Which I guarantee, nobody would even bother. It would take a lifetime. sethrilea
Sorry guys please forgive me I know very little when it comes to programming. I hope Bethesda learns from this experiment with settlements and realize how frustrating the whole settlement process has been. If it wasn't for you guys and your mods I would have given up on it long ago. Thanks.
H4RDC0R3V1B3Z
It's cool. Neither do I lol. Just know that many of the world objects such as cars, crates, etc. are part of the scenery. It's actually good for the game and much better method of world-building, rather than having thousands (or millions) of separate entities all over the map. Less objects = more stability (at least on paper). But this only really causes a bit of hassle when using Conquest, which has no control over any baked objects, only ones that can be scrapped with the removal mods. It's easier to find a better area with less junk around or try to incorporate it into your build. One thing I've done, is to get a map of all locations (there is one with just icons and no names somewhere, so you don't really ruin any surprises) and use a photo editing program (GIMP, Paint, paint.net, whichever) to plop down markers for potentially good spots for building with Conquest. Helps when you're looking for places. Edited May 26, 2017 by H4RDC0R3V1B3Z
