Supermutants are women too

How about a feminine supermutant playable race ? The F.E.V. has several exceptions like Harold and his tree on the head or Marcus who was a regular customer of the pawn cat (i assume that he can be physicaly distinguish from a mutated woman). So, why not playing a contamined vault dweller who have better evolved than a common supermutant ?

There is a great mod that can be used for if the author agree : Muscle girl project http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=42569

I hope someone think its a good idea and is going to release it both for Fo3 and Fnv.

If recall correctly, Super Mutants are actually asexual, explaining the "lack" of female supermutants

Tru. If I remember correctly I think there was conversation between 2 supermutants in FO3, where other was talking something about how it used to be a woman before mutating. And I believe Lily and Tabitha used to be women too as their names suggests. But mutations took away all sex characteristic etc.. Only some memories of womanhood still pushes through.

But still, I think it would fit well in the Fallout universe that some strain of FEV didn't remove all the feminine characteristics off from supermutants..same with male mutants. And there is supamutie race somewhere we haven't yet seen, that has clearly both sexes. But question is could they reproduce and have supermutant children or are they sterile like mules? :) Well sometimes, even though vary rarely, mules are known to be able to have offsprings so why not same with some supermutants too.

Okay.. Fine.. Lets put some boobs on these supermutants :D

Or we could turn them both into one super boob!

LOL.

There could be some special unarmed move, something like boobs of mass destruction or headcrush between.. well. eh.. :)

Those are Vault 87 mutants. Beyond the obvious, this is one of the more distinctive differences with Mariposa Mutants. Nothing about Mariposa mutants suggests they are asexual, they are only sterile. Marcus can even have sex with a prostitute in Fallout 2. There is another implied encounter with a mutant and the player in Broken Hills. Also, people refer to the Tabitha and Lily as "she". Basically they're still women.

And no, there aren't any more strains of FEV. After the already somewhat contrived existence of Vault 87, it would be ridiculous if there turned out to be yet another batch somewhere. Mariposa is destroyed, Vault 87 is destroyed. No more FEV.

You wanna play "Lore Monger"? Okay let's play.

The Mariposa Mutants also did not have sexuality. Never in any of the other games have their been any mutants with feminine qualities. There was actually a supermutant lady who lived in Broken Hills, and she used the same model as any other mutant. No boobs. No hints of sexuality except she spoke to her "husband" like a petulant child and accused him of reading porn behind her back.

So while Mariposa derived mutants may retain more of their minds than the Vault 87 variety, they did not have secondary sexual characteristics either.

I wasn't trying to seem confrontational, so sorry if it seemed that way.

I also wasn't aware that this topic was limited to specifically secondary sexual characteristics. It is certainly difficult to tell, but differences between the sexes are still there with Mariposa mutants. You can't ignore that Marcus has working junk. If there are also muties that are called female, it's safe to say they also likely have their genitalia. It's not very surprising that the extreme muscle mass developed by FEV exposure would reduce the amount of discernible female characteristics, but that doesn't mean Tabitha, Lily, and the one in Broken Hills aren't still technically females.

Actually I can "ignore" that Marcus has "working junk"... because he doesn't.

There was a scene in Fallout 2 where he says "Hope she doesn't get pregnant" after seeing a hooker, but it was later said by Chris Avellone to be a joke, and that he wasn't concerned with that at all and only joking with the player. He may be able to get erect, but his genetic material is still twisted up so tightly that he could never get anyone pregnant.

Boobs and a Va Jay Jay aren't the only things necessary to be considered female. Also important is the Double-X Chromosome pair. Given that Supermutants do not even have DNA, having been mutated through the FEV to have QNA (Quadruple helix), they no longer fit even the genetic type associated with being a female.

Mentally they may still self-identify as a male or a female, but on the biological level they are deffinitely neither.

(and I'm not upset. This is just my Lore face ;))

Interesting. Well, regardless, they do have genitalia and gender identity, which does differ from the East (I'm not sure on the status of the Vault 87 mutant's genitalia, not sure I want to check). So theoretically, there could be a mod for female super mutants, it's just that they obviously wouldn't have comical big boobs and whatnot. I'm sure if the mutants of Fallout New Vegas weren't homogenized like they are with their designation as creatures rather than an editable humanoid race, we'd see more of a difference between those mutants that call themselves female and male, mostly in facial structure. So in conclusion, the distinguishing of gender is pointless unless the way the super mutant race is made in the GECK is fundamentally changed. Unless you're like a large number of the people on the nexus and don't care about lore and would like to see a green muscle girl race added . . . then go for it.
