xeudon
Do you ever feel like someone is watching you? Watching *everything* you do and keeping careful notes? And selling all the info they gather about you to someone else? All over Nexus, I keep noticing that someone called "eXTReMe Tracking" is following everything I do. Apparently these spies come from "extreme-dm.com" which is an analytics company that is part of a network of sites, cookies, and other technologies used to track you, what you do and what you click on, as you go from site to site, surfing the Web. Sites like extreme-dm.com build an online profile of you usually including the sites you visit, your searches, purchases, and any other behavior. Your profile can then be sold to any other company who wants it, mostly advertisers and marketers. I doubt whether they have permission from Nexus to do this. Nexus has very high standards and would never stoop so low as to spy on you and sell all your info to those malicious spies and advertisers, but I'm sure there must be some way to block the bastards. Does anyone know of a way to block extreme-dm.com or eXTReMe Tracking from spying on you?

CarlCorey
I use a Firefox plug-in called Ghostery which can selectively block trackers like this. On Nexus it appears to be blocking eXTReMe Tracker, Google Analytics, BuySellAds and Quantcast. In the fora, it's just Quantcast. eXTReMe Tracking doesn't sound that insidious though: Extreme Digital provides the web analytics tool Extreme Tracker. These are tracking scripts that allow web site owners to "picture the visitors" to their web sites. It ranges from simply counting web site visitors to tracking the keywords they use to find you. Their website is here.
gsmanners
Does anyone know of a way to block extreme-dm.com or eXTReMe Tracking from spying on you? You could use Adblock Plus in Firefox. I don't see that particular URL, myself.
