topologicalqft
Hi guys, I'm a newbie on modding, and as a first step exercise currently I'm trying to add trainer dialogue to NPCs. Follow this guidehttp://wiki.nexusmods.com/index.php/Adding_a_Trainer_NPC_to_Skyrim everything works fine, I've followed those steps very carefully, and it works for new added NPCs. And for some of the vanilla NPCs too, I've tested with a standard alone follower, Lydia(restoration trainer), Mirablle Ervine(Alteration trainer), but it turns out this does not work with Elisif the Fair. This is very strange, I give Elisif , Lydia and the standard alone follower the trainer faction and restoration trainer faction, trainer gold script, and same custom class which offers restoration training. In the dialogue topic,If I set the condition on training actor as Elisif, the training dialogue does not show up at all. But if I change it to Lydia or the follower, it works fine. I'm sure, this is not caused by voice type, because both the follower and Elisif use female young eager voice type, if I use a female young eager type vanilla shared response for the trainer, then the follower will have a voiced response, but Lydia who does not use this voice type will have a unvoiced response, while for Elisif the dialogue does not show up at all.Even If I change the response to a vanilla dialogue of Elisif it does not works too, but I could make this work for Ervine with one of her own dialogue line as voiced response, so it seems that many NPCs do not have this problem. Then what is so special about Elisif, is there any conflict between my mod and some vanilla dialogue lines? I have no idea at all...Also I have tried to delete all but the trainer factions of Elisif, it does not works, so it seems that this is irrelevant with her factions. Have you ever met similar problems?
TheDungeonDweller
It is probably due to her voice type. Merchant/trainer dialogue is only setup to work with certain voice types. If you change hers, you break Elisif's dialogue for other topics.

TheDungeonDweller
Yeah, sorry, I skimmed through most of that, but I've read the whole thing now. I looked at Elisif's actor form, the only thing that sticks out as a potential problem is JobJarlFaction. You can probably try removing her from that faction and see if it allows you turn her into a trainer. This does not work too, however after test with about another ten NPCs, I also find that Tonilla of thieve guild has this problem too.
