StanIsTheLaw
What was missing from Oblivion was the chance to become Emperor. I was so flat after completing the MQ and only did Knights once as a result as there was no long term objective after the MQ. I hope someone is thinking "Become High King or High Queen", after finishing a pile of quests and bringing peace to the land. I have finished the MQ in Skyrim once and felt that awful flat feeling again.

I have finished the MQ in Skyrim once and felt that awful flat feeling again. I had the same feeling. I was the Dragonborn i slew Alduin, Skyrim needed leadership and i was supposed to be the heir of Tiber Septim? the founder of the Empire ... well wasted chance there :P
OblivionBonez
this could be taken a step farther, you become high king if you complete the stormcloak side of the questline, or you become emporer for completing the imperial side of the quest line. and each would have branching quest lines that happen afterwards. as emporer you should try to reconstruct the Amulet of Kings from the shards left after martin smashed it, and it could lead you on a great journey across Skyrim or Cyrodil or where ever, involving many of the divine and maybe some ghostly appearances by some certain Septims. and with the high king quest line.... i have no idea for that side
nofear88
It is certainly possible to marry Elesif the Fair. There is sadly no High King chapter to the story, meaning after who ever you decide wins, no choronation part. If you are an Imperial Legate, either male or female, I would add the option to "romance" Elesif because it would be a more proper way to go about things. Like Romance triggers usch as the Radiant Ramont quest where youget asked by the only nice high Elf chick who is suppost to be marriagible but is not t give you the clothes, when you do that quest, Elesif comments how nice it is, starting the trigger for the romance option. After you did the Wolf Queen quest ( I am redoing that now) that would be a superb boost for Elesif thing of what such a hero you are and makes you more of a possible suiter. Slaying Alduin, beating the Stormcloaks, helping the people of Solitude hold and generally being a good citizen of the Empire would be excellent aspects to further her interest in you. Or you could simply add her to the marriage faction, wear a mara amulet and marry her. Technically your the Jarl of Windhelm then and the future High King/Queen/ High prince/Princess consort as who ever sees it. Not too sure about the Stormcloak side as not played it yet :P Too much of an Imperial.
StanIsTheLaw
I would thinik you have to complete MQ, Winterhold, Companions, become Thane of every hold, win the civil war and a lot of smaller quests to become high King. Hope someone is working on it as I approach completing my second Skyrim:-)

Saratje
I've been itching to someday learn to script well enough to make a mod where one can become the Jarl of one of the holds through a quest or chain of quests befitting that particular hold. But unfortunately that'd be a while, programming and scripting scares me. :ohdear: Something about making the current Jarl fall out of favour with the ruling faction. E.g: with Sibbi's and Ingun's aid Maven is poisoned and declared too unhealthy and unfit to rule. Cause a riot between the Battleborns and Greymanes so that the Jarl is removed from his function for not stopping that feud. Find enough dirt on the Silver-Bloods to have them de-throned. Involve Falkreaths new young Jarl in a dirty scandal. Have Morthal's Jarl declared mad. Bring corsairs into Dawnstar and save the day. High-King sounds ambitious but it could definately fit a similar pattern. Or if more simple, a reward for uniting Skyrim and being Dragonborn. But I quietly expect that the next official DLC will address an invasion or otherwise crackdown by the Aldmeri Dominion, either because if Ulfric victors he's too dangerous, or if the Empire wins the Dominion makes one-demand-too-many when 'requesting' that Skyrim is put under their control. It's really boiling up to that point, so helping Skyrim may well make you a King or such also, we'll see. Still if such a mod is seriously being made, I wouldn't mind helping out with it. StanIsTheLaw
I am going OS for 5 weeks, when I come back i will try again to get my hear around scripting. Before challenging for high King, need to become a Jarl first. In the meantime, I hope this idea keeps going.
