passprogress
i downloaded wrye bash because i though it would identify mods imcompatiblity and that would fix my CTD but it seem i had no compatibility issue. Kodiak412
A couple of things I will mention but I cannot say for sure. I see Skyboost. I never used this mod but I remember this was fairly old. I think some of the updates to Skyrim made this obsolete. Again though I never followed this mod so I could be totally wrong but I would check this one out. Another problem area can be when you use multiple mods that effect the same thing. For instance I see 3 torch mods. This could be something to look at as very often mods that change similar things can cause conflicts. Also remember that mods that worked perfectly fine can be complete trouble after updates. Not always but the potential is there. Look to see if you have any very old mods. Check the mod and read the comments. If the author hasn't posted in 8 weeks and others are asking questions that go unanswered you can guess that the mod has been abandoned. That means that it was never updated and could be an issue as Skyrim updates. I wish I could definitively say but I can't, and I doubt anyone else can either. You'll probably just have to fiddle around with mods and see if deactivating any helps. Good luck.
Goalie281
Where do you have Skyrim installed? My theory, and note this is just a theory, is that the address that skyrim is located at is too long and for some reason the game crashes. I wonder if moving the game to a flash drive (ex: h:// ) would alleviate the CTDs. I don't know a lot about modding or computer coding but this fix did work for me on NHL 2004 when I installed it on my Windows 7 computer so I figure it could work again. I would try it myself but I do not have a flash drive large enough to hold my skyrim installation. If that doesn't work maybe this will: http://games.softpedia.com/get/Patch/The-Elder-Scrolls-V-Skyrim-4GB-Patch.shtml I wish you the best of luck because I am also having a large number of CTDs after upgrading from the base release to whatever the latest version is now. (If it isn't broken don't fix it.. should have listened to that and kept the box release) Edited February 19, 2012 by Goalie281
passprogress
My CTD are now only once or twice a hour using wrye bash. I have skyboost V5 compatible with the last update. My Skyrim folder is at C:. The 3 torchlight are in fact: candlelight, torch cast shadow and dynamic torch(make interior torch removable). the odd thing is that the unexplained CTD happen a really different situation. It can be outdoor just above a mountain close to markath, loading a saved game in falkreath, loading a random cave but never happen close to torch. this is what make me think it cant be cause by my torch mods. Am i wrong?
oventek
This may sound dumb, but check your video card, it could be the fans are not cooling it enough. Dust can do some amazing things in a computer case if you do not have good positive airflow.
Kodiak412
In my reply I am not saying that it is the torch mods, I am just saying that when anyone has multiple mods that affect the same thing this could be a good thing to look at if you are having problems. I do not know what all your mods do but you should look to see if any of them change the same things. If they do you may want to start to disable different ones to see if that is causing conflict. Just a good rule of thumb, if you have 3 or 4 mods that change the same thing you could easily have conflicts that could cause a CTD from one of those mods. My game is right at C: and i verified every mods so that no mods do the affect the same thing.
VictoriaG
Do you have the official hires textures, had lots of CTDs with those.
ColonialRaptor
The game is suppossed to be able to handle all of those mods right? I personally hate the fact that CTD's just happen out of the blue just while you're running from one place to the next SEEMINGLY for no reason at all. It shits me so much and I get them all the time and I seem to not be able to do anything about it or be able to fix it no matter what I do... I've used BASH like yourself and I've completely culled my list of mods... it's like they are conflicting with one another, but the process is so badly implemented (despite there being so much official support through the SW etc) that it's embarassing how unreliable the game is. I LOVE Skyrim so much but I'm just about ready to throw in the towel on this on because I'm sick to death of trying out a few new mods on a day and then having to spend MORE time debugging them and finding out what's wrong and seemingly causing my CTD's because of some crazy out there WTF conflict than playing the game itself... it f*#@s with my head and thus I'm just about to give up on the game. Are there others out there running many mods (100+) and still able to play the game reliably without CTD issues?
Kodiak412
Uncheck them all, load a save, create a new clean hard save, exit the game, renenter the game from the clean save with no mods. Now play and see it you have the same CTD problem. If not you have a mod that is not playing nice. Now try adding them one at a time and playing the game after each time you activate a new mod. Sooner or later will start to CTD and then you will know what mod is acting up.
