"Assault Unit" mod

I've always found that in this style of RPG, the old "god-like invincible hero" role gets done to death. It's fun and all charging solo into a rebel camp and single-handedly dispatching an entire platoon of 20 or 30 Stormcloaks, but it just seems unrealistic. And it gets old.

I mean, I know I'm supposed to be the hero, and I'm awesome, and the game centers around me and everything, but seriously EVERY rpg game is like this. Either one hero or a small group of heroes is charged with saving the entire world as we know it...

So I was thinking it would be fun if there were some kind of mod that allowed me to put together a team of Imperial Soldiers to follow me (just as a regular follower like Aela would, for example) and execute my commands as a unit - I would talk to my lieutenant and click on "I need you to do something", and my entire unit would execute the command. If that would be too complicated, even just following me around and attacking my enemies would be fine.

The way I play this game (on my current character) is such that the difficulty is very high: I always play on Master difficulty; I have Deadly Dragon installed and so far I have only ever killed the one dragon (at the watchtower); my character is a simple Heavy Armour, sword-and-shield Imperial soldier with almost no magic (other than a bit of resto) and barely any perks except for a bit of blacksmithing, and the requisite one-handed, blocking, and heavy armour skills; furthermore, I have yet to complete any of the Dragonborn quests (so no Greybeard stuff, and my *only* shout is "Fus", not the full "Fus Ro Dah), further adding to the difficulty of the game; I never use any potions, since I've always found that being able to pause the game and spam 8 potions in a row while your opponent is mid-swing is just an absolute joke; and generally speaking I just try to play the game to make it challenging as immersive with all kinds of other small things which are too trite and numerous to mention or even remember.

Anyways, this means that I die A LOT. So it wouldn't feel like cheating or anything, since it would just sort of balance the game out a bit if I could have 3-4 Imperials as a sort of Imperial Auxiliary Task Force to accompany me and help me win more battles, rather than just dying repeatedly and pressing F5 mid-combat every time I take down a bandit or something in case the other 3 of them kill me and I have to start the fight over. Nothing too OP, just a few (non-essential, i.e., they stay dead when killed) Imperial soldiers that I could acquire as I progress through the game. Maybe Tullius or Rikke could assign me a new soldier every time I complete a quest?

Would something like this be hard to mod?

(I know I could just use the player.placeatme command to spawn soldiers, but that just seems cheesy, and they wouldn't really follow me unless I spawned them for every fight...)

This would be a cool mod, IMO.

I do plan on one day really sitting down to look at the modding tutorials, since I have a lot of ideas for mods... but I find that ATM too many of the tutorials (including Bethesda's own) just assume that the player already kind of knows what's going on... I am a complete modding noob and get lost almost immediately in these tutorials. If anyone knows of any tutorials that truly start from SCRATCH and explains the basic functions and principles of the CK that would be awesome.

Any help or advice (or if you're really awesome and motivated, an actual mod :D) would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers

Just to add... I'm not necessarily expecting anyone to run out and make this mod for me...

But any advice would be great (if something like this is even possible with the CK or even just console commands).

Also.. *bump* :P

(I promise I won't turn this into a bump-fest, maybe 1 or 2 more bumps and if I can't get an answer... oh well.)
