Okay i downloaded Windspear which of course you know if you downloaded it already you know is a good wizards tower.

The Robes, Do i have to download slofs old trader? or Can i change the file path? And How do i change the file path if need be anyway?

Could you elaborate? I haven't downloaded the mod A Windspear Tower, but I'm assuming it has some robes in it, yes? And these robes, it/they look like it's/they're from Slof's Oblivion Robe Trader? So, is your question, then, "will the robes (from Windspear Tower) look like Slof's robes even if I don't have Slof's Robe Trader installed?"

Is Windspear Tower an .esp or does it contain meshes and textures? If it contains meshes and textures, open up the folders and search for anything with a title that has "robe" in it. If there is a mesh and texture for the robe, then I don't think you'll need the Robe Trader; the meshes and textures are already included in the Windspear Tower mod.

If the mod doesn't contain any new meshes and textures, then the robes in that mod will likely be using the vanilla robe textures/models. I don't think Slof's Robe Trader will alter any robes not specified in the Slof's Robe Trader .esp. I'm not savvy with the CS, so I don't know how to change the file path. The CS wiki might help.

Of course, I might be totally incorrect in my assumptions/advice. As I've mentioned, I'm not CS savvy, and my knowledge is gleaned from trial and error and from things I've read here and there.

Nah you are incorrect. I have installed alot of mods into my oblivion so i know i know what i am doing. The Robes are from slofs robe trader. I am thinking it might be a conflict with roberts male body. Or i need to change the file path some how as the game isnt reading the files correctly. All files are i guess in the mods default where they are supposed to be. I dont want to add slofs robe trader but if i have to i will because slof makes some good mods. I think that might just be the only correct answer to it.

But my question to those who might know is whatdo people man by changing the file path. Does that have to do with the CS? Or am i just to slow to realize it has to do with the location in my directory? Thanx anyway.Kudos to those who help.

The author DID include Slof's Robe textures in Windspear, yet forgot to changing file path. The robes textures are in \Textures\clothes\slof, while plugin still uses \Textures\clothes\as.

Indeed that mod looks strange!

In the CS there are just 2 robes 2 hoods and 1 shoes related to the mod, while in the Windspearrobes folder there are a bunch of meshes. Those meshes are pointing not only to an incorrect texture folder since there's a clothes\slof folder and not a texture\as, but in the clothes\slof folder there aren't the correct textures! These appear to be from the mod 'Stuff for wizards'. Plus the meshes are renamed and they appear to be changed. They don't look as the meshes from the original 'Slof Robe Trader' mod!

So I'm guessing there are some errors in that mod, and you have to install the meshes and the textures from the original Slof's mod, changing then the file paths via CS!

Lfact , I have no idea what you mean by Texture/as, if you could please explain. Forgive my ignorance.

Although i have decided to just take the long way and Download slofs robe trader, i would still like to know what you mean for future reference.

Thank you.

Well in case anybody reads this i downloaded slofs robe trader and still it doesnt work. I have no clue how to change a file path. If some one could please enlighten me that would be great. A windspear tower is a great mod, But i want to see the people before i use it. Kudos to those who tell me the process of changing a file path.

I know it has to do with the esp not reading where the textures are, but thats about it. if you need to get all technical go ahead and shoot cause i know what you'll be talking about.

Kudos to the helper.

Open the Windspear.esp with the CS, then search under clothing the five items related to your mod. Double click on one of them.. Now you have on the right of the window 6 buttons. 3 for the male body and 3 for the female body, named 'biped model' 'world model' and 'icon image'. Clicking on the 'biped model' button you must select a mesh under meshes\clothes\asrobetrader folder and clicking on the 'world model' button you have to select its ground model. For example: if you select in 'biped model' the asrobeaegism.nif then you have to select its ground model which is named 'asrobeaegis_gnd.nif'. In fact the suffix '_gnd' is applied to identify the ground models. It's easy enough.

If you want the icon correctly displayed in your inventory then you have to push the 'icon image' button. Now you must point to the correct folder, which in this case is 'textures\menus\icons\asrobetrader\' and select the correct .dds. Though I don't recall which it is.. But you can select any .dds for it (eg. asrobegreyicon.dds) Then click ok and close the window. Repeat all for each item and then save the esp. That is.
