patpongnana
So the game is running smooth as silk and I'm very happy. I then notice there's no talk from any of the npc's all of a sudden :( wtf? Any ideas folks? To recap:Play on a PC.Game was working fine - never had a sound problem in over 200 hours play.I'm getting sound effects/music etc just no dialog from any npc.I've experimented with the audio slider controls in settings - all works fine apart from voice. Not touched the sound files or added any mods that alter the audio. Tried everything I can think of to rectify but no joy. Helpzzzzzz
Dubnoman
Is it that they won't talk to you when walking/standing near them, or they won't talk no matter what, even when you try to talk to them? Also, did you go to an earlier save and see if things are normal there?
NoAardvarksAllowed
Did you change your Skyrim .ini? Specifically the Archive part, where the game is told to load the voice related .BSAs?
Acetoolguy
check your speaker configuration, somehow mine got changed to a quad setup instead of the two I have. I guess the voices were supposed to come out of the 2 that are not there.
patpongnana
Thanks for the replies guys. Aardvark - you're a star - I had indeed been fidling around in the archive (doing the body mesh fix) and messed up with my copy/paste skills :) Sorted it out now and my game is back to it's fabulous self. Much appriciated and Mr. Aardvark - you can stay at the top of the dictionary for as long as you like. Love this community :)
