Niizzy
Hello! I'm new to the forums so if I posted this in the wrong place, forgive me. So, I'm currently playing a mildly modded Fallout: New Vegas gameplay and it was going all fine and fun until for some reason I began to get some weird textures glitches. Sometimes if I quit the game oddly enough it fix the problem, but sometimes it doesn't. I did some research and it is possibly because NV have some kind of esp limit capped at 139, so I disabled some mods and it fixed but not for long, the glitch came back. Does anyone know a fix for this glitch? http://oi66.tinypic.com/v79tms.jpghttp://oi68.tinypic.com/qq991y.jpghttp://oi64.tinypic.com/167tg9h.jpgThey look like something out of a horror movie lol. Anyone knows how to fix this? Here is my load order: https://pastebin.com/w4g7gcV4 Thanks for all the help you can provide! Niizzy
Well, I think I fixed by completely removing MNC textures>clean save>reinstall. The odd part is that I never messed up with MNC for it to break my game like that. But, like I said, I had fixed it one time and the problem came back after some more time playing, so let's hope it don't come back again.
Niizzy
Well, the glitch came back after a few hours. I knew it would. I'm getting desperate, anyone have some insight on how to fix this damn thing? Thanks. Edited June 11, 2017 by Niizzy
Deleted1205226User
Could landscape overhaul have something to do with it?Did you use any kind of archive validation? You are still very close to the limit, try to reduce it by merging. Niizzy
I will try to disable landscape overhaul to see if this goes away. In the meantime, I will research about merging mods and merging patches because I don't have a clue about how to do that. You already took your time to look at my problem so I will not bother you to teach me how to do that, but if you have a link to some kind of tutorial about how to merge It will be very apprectiated. Thanks! Edited June 11, 2017 by Niizzy
Deleted1205226User
You'll find everything you need to know (and more) about modding your game here: http://wiki.nexusmods.com/index.php/FNV_General_Mod_Use_Advice You didn't answer about Archive Invalidation, though. Chameleons texture is often related to it.
Niizzy
Oh, right, Archive Invalidation. Well, I did what I know about it, tick/untick the option in NMM/FOMM. I tried downloading this http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/35935/?, but it messed up my game and I had to spend some time to make everything work again. I taught myself how to merge plugins and tried with some of the "appearance mods" and it worked great, but I had no luck merging the armor mods. When I use the merged armor esp, the armors vanish from my character and NPCs, leaving a bunch of naked NPC through the world and I can't fix this. It isn't using any master file, esm or that kind of thing. It greatly reduced my load order but sadly I can't make it work. What could I be doing wrong? What I find odd about this damn thing is that almost every time I quit the game it fix the problem for a time. By my understanding, if I had a bunch of missing/messed up meshes/textures, a simply relaunch wasn't supposed to fix it. There I am, walking The Strip, talking to a perfectly normal npc, change a cell then come back and that same npc is all messed up, purple with a big red exclamation point. M48A5
According to your load order you are using an EMB along with NMC Texture Pack. Did you also add the 4GB Fallout New Vegas Updated?
Niizzy
Yeah, I am using the 4gb patch updated. I uninstalled Landscape Overhaul and everything seems to be ok for now and it is running better than before without any apparent changes lol. The only thing I had is Camp Golf resort interior having "half walls", I can see through them but it didn't "spread" those exclamation markings everywhere and NPC didn't became purple. The glitch is apparently fixed, for now. It always come back, let's see if now it doesn't. Strange thing is I currently have 80 hours of gameplay with the same load order and this glitch popped out of nowhere. After 80 hours I had my first "out of memory" error today, twice. When I fix one problem, another one pop up, just like when I tried to mod Skyrim x32. With Skyrim x64 I never had any problem. Where is New Vegas x64 Beth? Because Fallout 4 sucks  Thank you guys for taking your time to try and help me, I rarely bother for help in the forums, I think this is the second time I'm doing this. I try to fix on my own and learn something in the process. I'm tired of doing full reinstall of the game+mods to fix these things, but this was becoming really annoying for me. dubiousintent
Sounds like you may have more than one problem. Too many "active plugins" could be one. The "140 cap" is just an approximation. Only testing can tell you what it actually is for your system. (Mine is 130 and not one more.) Please see the 'Solutions to "Crash To Desktop" (CTD) problems' section in the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" guide regarding your "out of memory" problem. Where do you have your game installed? If to the default location under the "C:\Program Files" folder tree: This causes many "strange" problems not otherwise explainable. As painful as it may sound, read the wiki article Installing Games on Windows Vista+ and move at least FNV. That article has a link to the official Steam Procedure (a good indication that they now recognize the need to correct this). This should be the first solution you try. Otherwise you will spend a lot of time and effort trying other solutions, and still have to move the game files in the end anyway. -Dubious-
