Zevinnus15
Hello, So paid modding is making a return, some people will be really excited for this while others will be very upset about it. As a small member of this community (mainly a mod user and forum lurker) I ask that we all just remain calm and patient as more information is presented to us. Lets not jump the gun and start acting like the sky is falling but instead ask lots of question so we have a better understanding of this Creation Club and how it will effect us as a whole. Most importantly lets be respectful towards each other. When paid modding was introduced in the past I saw the community tear itself apart. Lets not make a repeat of that, lets be kind to our fellow mod user and mod authors. Lets look at this from all sides and find a better understanding. Thanks,You all have a good one. (Also this is my first thread if I posted this in the wrong area if someone can move it to a more proper sub forum that would be great)

grimper12341
I think this statement from the Bethesda Creation Club website will help put a lot of minds at ease too: https://creationclub.bethesda.net/enIs Creation Club paid mods? No. Mods will remain a free and open system where anyone can create and share what they’d like. Also, we won’t allow any existing mods to be retrofitted into Creation Club, it must all be original content. Most of the Creation Club content is created internally, some with external partners who have worked on our games, and some by external Creators. All the content is approved, curated, and taken through the full internal dev cycle; including localization, polishing, and testing. This also guarantees that all content works together. We’ve looked at many ways to do “paid mods”, and the problems outweigh the benefits. We’ve encountered many of those issues before. But, there’s a constant demand from our fans to add more official high quality content to our games, and while we are able to create a lot of it, we think many in our community have the talent to work directly with us and create some amazing new things. The majority of the work will be from Bethesda itself or external publishers, which is a pretty reasonable guarantee of quality and value for money. As for the minority of content that will be made by community mod authors, it all has to be original work (so no popular mods being ported to the new system and only receiving updates there), AND potentially there will be far less compatibility and stability issues. Also with community content being the minority, what makes it in will be much more tightly controlled, meaning the the mod authors who put the time and effort into making something amazing will be appropriately awarded. Those few mod authors who abused the previous system with large amounts of trash mods will most likely not make the cut.
