PsYchotic666Joker
I personally do not care for it at all, so i overwrote it with my mods and texture packs. also here's a link to the 2k HD pack. this is way better.http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=607 and here is a side by side close up of the 'hd dlc' and the 2k hdhttp://i.imgur.com/VG3Cs.jpg

Rennn
ENB is the best visual mod type. It'll make your game look better than HD textures, and you can get both :) The bloom on the screens that the person above me posted is a little too high for my taste. Don't worry; it's possible to keep the good atmosphere without having that faded look. Edited February 19, 2012 by Rennn

But it's free to choose for those that like it. ----- Regarding the highres texture pack, it's for sure worth having. Makes default game armor, clothing, weapons, shields look much better and also improves in some other areas. Still lacking a bit though, but I wouldn't run the game without it. Anyways. Definitly go for 2k textures instead. Much better imo. Although ENB is also worth giving a spin, although it is a significant performance hit (for me at least). If you can run both at the same time Im sure the results would be phenomenal, but I can't run that with my rig. But I would definitly not recommend Bethesda's texture pack. I can do without the jagged and coarseness and splintering of the textures. I prefer non-baked-in visuals that are dynamic. Lol, I avoid general texture packs but do like some that I can hand pick, like for water. Edit/PS: Ideally, textures wouldn't be used at all and no visuals would be baked-in. It would all be material shaders and lighting. But that's only something we can do if we're pre-rendering a scene, not for gaming, yet...
