voxdoom
So, I'd love to change up the beards but I have no idea how to edit them in Gimp. I converted the file in characters/human/customization/beard to DDS and opened it up in Gimp. It's really confusing how they've done this. There are 4 channels I can see, RGB and Alpha. The Alpha channel is like a wirey hair thing and all the beard shapes are on different channels. First time trying to mod anything and I thought it'd be fairlly simple but it's beyond me. Anyone had a go at the beards yet? Anyone show me what I'm supposed to be looking at? Edit: Figured it out. telefonmast
Hi,I'm also trying to edit a Beardstyle, could you explain how you did it? Everytime I try to import something modded with GIMP, I get an "unhandled exception" error... Thanks :)
voxdoom
Export from the Editor.Open in Gimp.Decompose (search online for Gimp Decompose) the image so you can edit the beards.Compose them again (not Recompose).Export as DDS and make sure that you pick the right format (should be BC3 I think).Import into Editor. Wait, is there a plugin for GIMP now that will let you open up the extracted .DDS files directly without using a converter first?
Ehamloptiran
Only if their not the D3D11 formats ie. BC7/BC6H or any of the SRGB flavours. Basically the plugin is ancient. Best to use a converter anyways.

telefonmast
Just did a quick test, all works perfectly, BC3 is in fact the correct format, that's where I messed up before. Thanks again
