ericjmz
An amazing Skyrim SSE finding that everyone says doesn't exist? But it does! I just completed, in SSE, the Nettelbane quest, The Blessings of Nature. As I was leaving , 3 'different' boss spriggans attacked me; after killing them I obtained 3 very unusual ingredients I had here-to-fore never seen. Violet Gildergreen Burnt Wood Gildergreen & ...a 3rd gildergreen, whose adjectival 1st name escapes me (stuck at work at hospital, but can look up when I return home tomorrow). The point of interest...the 'DOES-not-exist' item...is the Violet Gildergreen that contains, among its four effects , these two Fortify Alchemy (!) Fortify Creativity (!!) It sounds like I'm making this up...I am not; I was floored to see these, & have since done tons of google research, and find nothing mentioned anywhere. The practical usage,VERY practical usage, would of course be, if there were other ingredients with either of these effects, then using 3 of said effect I would then be able to make the non-existent Holy Grail potion of Fortify Alchemy (the mind reels as to what would be done with a Fortify Creativity potion :-)) So my questions are:- 1. has anyone/anywhere/anytime discovered what I just might have...dare I say it..discovered? 2. if so,do any other ingredients (the Skyrim rules of enchanting would demand 2 more each,of course) contain either or both these effects? Without such, the discovery doesn't matter 3. I am guessing the likely culprit is a mod...but have no idea which mod...and I only have 1 1/2 dozen, and pretty common ones at that? I DID do a Nexusmods search of one I thought might be a culprit [Cutting Room Floor] but the write-up doesn't mention this Anybody have any thoughts? thank you ericjmz
TheDungeonDweller
Fortify Alchemy does exist as an effect. I don't know why anyone would think otherwise. I think you can get up to 32% as an enchantment. The last one is questionable, as I can't find it in the CK.But just to throw this out there... if you want to make a claim of something, be sure to post a screenshot. Since anyone here can simply load up the CK to verify themselves ;P If you know what I mean. Edited June 20, 2017 by TheDungeonDweller
ericjmz
from: http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Fortify_Alchemy "... It should be noted that none of the ingredients contain the Fortify Alchemy effect. It is only found as an enchantment... I am trying extremely hard to be extremely precise in using the words of 'effect' and 'enchanting'I believe you are wrong (see above); in 3 run-thrus of the game, and an extensive searching since last nite's discovery, I have never found an ingredient with the fortify alchemy effect! In fact please take a look right now at your potions You have Fortify smithing...right?You have Fortify enchanting...right?Now do you have Fortify Alchemy? I bet you a million-billion-gazillion dollars you don't! (do you take checks?) If I am wrong, can you please post a pic right here of your potions for all to see it?If I am right, would it now be so very cool if you could/did? ericjmz
I found the answer; its from a mod (as I said I suspected when I posted this today), specifically ' Zim's Immersive Artifacts ' The following from the readme at nexusmods: '- When Nettlebane is in your possession, you can harvest Spriggan Sap from dead spriggans......You can now harvest different ingredients from dead Spriggans. They will drop taproots as usual, but if you have Nettlebane, you can also harvest 1-3 portions of Spriggan Sap. In addition to regular Spriggan Sap, you can harvest Burnt Spriggan Sap from Burnt Spriggans, Golden Spriggan Sap from Spriggan Matrons, and Violet Spriggan Sap from Spriggan Earth Mothers....' '...All Saps grant you the new effect, Fortify Creativity, which improves your crafting skills twice as fast for 60 seconds. Additionally, Spriggan Sap and Violet Spriggan Sap can create Fortify Alchemy potions, an effect already in the vanilla game which can't otherwise be accessed (this effect is capped to prevent you making OP potions).' Mystery solved; I wasn't imagining it :-) I did find this comment in the readme intriguing: 'Violet Spriggan Sap can create Fortify Alchemy potions, an effect already in the vanilla game which can't otherwise be accessed...' I was right. This is new/different.There is NO SUCH THING as the 'Fortify Alchemy EFFECT' from ANY potion, 'accessible' in Skyrim ericjmz
