Weird Dawnguard Vampire Lord Bug

Hey,

There are a lot of bugs that can happen when you try to play dawnguard using the Temptress Race, but until now, I haven't seen this particular one, on the internet or ingame.

To become a Vampire, I used the Method provided on the Temptress Nexus Site, meaning I used Better Vampires and the console command player.setrace TemptressRaceVapire. Everything seems to be working just fine, from the transformation to Vampire Lord, to NPCs recognizing my pale skin. NPCs also turn hostile when i transform to Vampire Lord next to them, as in Vanilla Skyrim. However, if i transform where they can't see me and THEN walk up to them, they're not hostile and treat me as a normal citizen. To others it may not seem that annoying, but it really ruins the immersion for me.

 

I use over 500 mods, so posting my load order with all the plugins would be overkill, but I'll list the most important mods which could have anything to do with the problem:

 

1.Skyrim.esm and DLCs

2.Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Patch.esp and Unofficial Skyrim Modders Match

3.RaceCompatibility.esm (I use Race Compatibility not for the Temptress Race, but for the Lunari Race, which I have also installed)

4.RaceCompatibiltyUSKPOverride.esp

5. FNIS.esp, FNISspells.esp

6.DVA - Dynamic Vampire Appearance.esp

7.LunariRace.esp

8.TemptressVixen.esp

9. Various texture and follower mods

10.Better Vampires.esp

11. When Vampires Attack (Bottom of Load Order)

 

I am flagged as a Vampire in the Better Vampire MCM and i am also using the Better Vampire Scripts.

There is a RaceCompatability patch for the Temptress Race under the Optional Files. You cannot use the Temptress Vampire Compatibility update with that patch though. Since you have RaceCompatability you probably should have used that instead. I would assume that would fix your issue. Not sure if it's too late now though.

First of all, thank you for replying.

I think I'm actually using both patches, the Vampire patch and the Race compatibility Patch. I think i still have a save before I accepted "The Gift". I also actually just noticed that NPCs do also not react to me feeding from random people on the street. The Temptress Race doesn't have any feeding animations,so I need to use Better Vampires. I could also just uninstall the Lunari Race and Race Compatibility since i rarely use the Lunari followers anyways and just play with the Vampire Update and Better Vampires...

What would you suggest I should do?

I would suggest to use the RaceCompatability patch provided in the Optional Files of the Temptress Race. Use those along side the RaceCompatability mod itself. Uninstall the standard Temptress race fix.

You're going to want this instead of the standard Temptress Race Patch for Vampires.

So I tried everything. Just Race Compatibility and the Race Compatibility Patch, just the temptress race and the vampire update. Basicallly it's the same outcome: Everything works, but when i change to VampireLord outside of NPCs FOV and then walk up to them they won't be hostile. I'm starting to think I can't fix this by simply installing/uninstalling mods. I still use Better Vampires, because I need that mod to get the feed animations. If I use the combinations mentioned above without BV I can still feed, it just plays no animation. I don't know if the not-hostile-problem is caused by better vampires.

Maybe there is a console command or something that could make humans hostile everytime you enter VL Form?

I would stick the race compatability thing but you'll likely need to start over again. That or live with the bugs. I'm fairly certain you can become a vampire like normal with the RaceCompatibility. You'll need to check the Tamptress race mod page to confirm.

Temptress Race Page sais nothing about using Race Compatibility, there's just the Race Compatibility patch in the downloads.

Ok, so I am currently only using the Temptress race and Race Compatibility + the Temptress Race Compatibility Patch. I uninstalled Better Vampires, and although Better Vampires shouldn't do anything which changes the hostility of NPCs towards the palyer in Vampire Lord form, now it works! All NPCs attack me on sight. However, now I can't feed, since the animations added by better Vampires are obviously missing now. And I don't think this is an issue with my mod setup, or my savegame. It was exactly like this in my last playthrough.

Maybe you know any mods other mods which add custom feeding animations?

Or maybe someone who is using the race could confirm that it is actually possible to just use Race Compatibility and get the feeding animations to work?

Although I am using all these mods almost without problems, I'm not particularly "good" at modding, so I don't know if a Body Replacer could cause all these Problems.

v1.3e - RaceCompatibility Addition

This was not created by me but by TMPhoenix who created the RaceCompatibility mod. He allowed me to host the files since I'd like to keep anything related to the Temptress Race in one convenient location. Please note I have not tested this optional download.

 

If you use the new Temptress RC patch, you should not use the Temptress vampirism patch as that would cause all sorts of incompatibilities. RaceCompatibility will take care of the vampirism.

 

I'm not sure how your existing save/game will act if you switch between the RC and previous Vampirism downloads. If you were already using the Vampirism update combined with Better Vampires and had no problems there really isn't a need to download the RC counterpart. This was created and made available for those that do use the RaceCompatibility mod already and needed the Temptress Race to be made compatible with it. Also for those that are just now downloading the Temptress Race mod and starting fresh.

 

Here are some notes on the changes by TMPhoenix:

 

- Added a vampire race (copied from original, only eyes are different as well as the appropriate keywords, and powers)

- Removed a few dirty edits

- added a quest + script to handle the race compatibility.
