Severun13 Posted June 28, 2017 Share Posted June 28, 2017 so this has been on my mind for a bit. its been 210 years since you went into the vault and sanctuary has been abandoned for most of that? highly doubtful. even with codsworth there, who is basically friendly enough. your house may never be touched due to codsworth, but the rest of sanctuary or at least part of it should show more signs of settlement. even the concord survivors mention repeatedly that they have heard of sanctuary. its like a legend in the commonwealth. people would have searched it out and attempted to settle there at somepoint. whether that settlement actually lasted is another matter. people die, more move in, they die etc... mod idea, a more "settled" sanctuary for the start. partially or fully walled, some ramshackle structures, maybe a small farm plot. nothing major but enough to make it look and feel like people have tried and failed to live there. maybe you find notes or a terminal with entries for lore friendliness. maybe a small quest involving a "dark secret" (ghouls or mutants or synths (since the institute knows where sanctuary is) attacking anyone who settles there.) maybe a unique legendary to find thats good for early game (10mm pistol or sawed off double barrel?) but becomes wall decoration around late early to mid game. One house in the southwestern side with bloat flies has what looks to be a baracade and there is a working fire pit in the south east. Even codsworth mentions how people have come through the area even shooting at him. The reason for the Concord survivors hearing of the place is due to the drug addicts rambling, though i suspect she went through there before and was remembering how good it was for a settlement. Which honestly it is a good spot. Hey idea to suggest that is related though less likely to be made. An already settlted sanctuary! There are already a few people living there probably by the round about and you convince them to take in Preston and company. I always wondered why no one ever settled there it is pretty safe.
