jamesrogers93
I have a problem when trying to import a custom mesh. I have followed countless tutorials and still cant get this to work, I must be missing something. Whenever i try to replace a file with my .nif file in the creation kit it will just have a red triangle. I plan to do some modding but don't want to spend much time creating one if I cant import it to the game so i have edited a mesh just to see if it would work in game. I have already edited the settings etc in nifskope. I will attach my .nif file along with the orginal nif and the new .obj i edited if anyone wants to have a look at it. I will greatly appreciate it if someone is able to help me out. Programs used:3ds max 2012 with nif pluginnifskope latest version with skyrim modified xml document creation kitfallout 3 archive Thanks in advance Edited February 21, 2012 by jamesrogers93

ghosu
There are 2 objects (NitTriShapeData) in your NIF, the one that is displayed grey, has VERTEX COLORS set to NO - change that to YES, that fixed the problem - i just tested it in the CK. ghosu
Well sry then but for me it works (at least in the CK, should work ingames as well). On the left is your "corrupt" file from yesterday and on the right is my version with VERTEX COLORS YER or your new edited file - both work for me. http://666kb.com/i/c1gnrwx2ggap8utyy.jpg Edited February 22, 2012 by ghosu

ghosu
You can place it anywhere as long as you as it is somewhere in Skyrim\data\meshes... and you change the path of the model in the CK. Edited February 22, 2012 by ghosu

Check yer pathing for yer bitmaps. (Hopefully in DDS format!)
