Cannot Wait

I just started a new game with the non-DRM version of Oblivion from GOG and while I was playing thru the intro with no mods but the official patch and the unofficial patches I could wait by using the T button.

After adding my mods just before exiting the sewers I played up to being in the Market section in the Imperial City. I then wanted to wait until after 8am when the shops would open. When I used T to wait I got a message telling me I must have a bed to rest in. I figured one of my mods changed my ini to cause this to happen so I went to Oblivion.ini and looked under [Controls] to change it back. I thought it would just have changed my wait from something like 1 to 0.

I found rest in the ini file but no wait. I checked under Settings and under Controls I still had T designated for wait. Does anyone know how I can get my wait back. I have played with these same mods in my disc installed Oblivion and this has never happened. As far as I know the only difference between GOG Oblivion and the disc version is that the GOG version has all the DLCs, which is why I bought the GOG version as I wanted to play the DLCs, plus you get Arena and Daggerfall for free.

I can post my mod order if you feel that will help.

I had to edit this as I said Tools instead of Controls.

In both my Oblivion.ini and Oblivion_Default.ini under [Controls] I have a line which reads "Rest=0014FFFF" so I figured I would change that to read "Wait=0014FFFF" hoping that the 0014FFFF designated the T key. It might have designated the key but I still get the same message when I hit T telling me I need a bed to rest in.

If one of the mods you installed is Oblivion Reloaded, you could check for waiting-related settings in OblivionReloaded.ini in your Data\OBSE\Plugins folder. There should be some sort of a "wait" option somewhere, like "wait=0", with a message text option right below it. You can change the value from 0 to 1 to see if it helps.

If you did not install Oblivion Reloaded, then it is probably something else. Good luck with your search for the culprit! :thumbsup:

Edit: So the variable in OblivionReloaded.ini was named "rest", not "wait", I remembered it incorrectly. Thank you, LFact. Refer to the response by LFact below. :blush:

From OblivionReloaded.ini:

[SleepingMode]
Rest                     = 0

Change 0 to 1. It will revert 'Rest' key behavior to vanilla.

(Do not forget to read readme file under data\docs)
