Magnetometer
does anyone know if current mods will work with fallout vr or will they have to be specifically made for vr version?

montky
@magnetometerexcellent question!apologies, as it is a deceptively simple question with something of a complex answer. the short answer is: "it depends" hehe. I take it you saw the 2015 E3 sidepanel, and this year's '17 Bethesda Beth TV VR sidepanel.these two events, from the Exec VP of FO4VR at bethesda, combined with "ThisWeekInTech" VR specials, really helped clear a lot of this up for me,and I cannot recommend these more for folks who're curious. I do look forward to seeing more reflections on this from FO4VR or VR gamers and Holographers etc, especially those who make 360 vids and panoramic stuff. VR can be attainable for folks on a budget, and it is much more accessible than people initially realize. We're even seeing vision-condition adaptive systems, making 3D and hyperdimensional optical illusions available to people who previously could not fully enjoy 3D movies etc. VR isn't a gimmick, and it isn't something only for more affluent gamers only, and we're seeing a whole new race for VR starting up.VR is essential to rapid-prototyping and building things, as much as it is for recreational purposes. the answer to your question, will depend on:-what peripherals and hardware you are using to playa FO4VR setup.- what your install situation is, and your own budget and way you want to VR. so, some mods will only work for high-end installs and FO4VR only setups, requiring stuff like dedicated Oculus peripherals, or smart phones etc.this is because of the way the coding and programming for those will be made,it would melt older computers hehe. some will be encoded only for neuro-memristive PCBs on the VR headset itself.these might be made interoperable via virtual access portals and distributed cloud computing in the near future, something that Bethesda and Zenimax are reportedly looking into,as are some 3rd party game hosts as for Universe Sim and Star Citizen etc... some installs and setups, will take the existing FO4 and pseudo-it into being FO4VR that way,be that via a holo-projector (behind the eye VR), via remote access to a smartphone (see google glass and other 3D headsets/fabric veils)or to other peripherals. see the Oculus concept/Autodesk and Boeing "Holodeck"/ architectural, physics and medical "holodecks" etc. so that approach will allow existing mods and savegames etc, to be VR compatibleand this will probably be how most folks approach VR, at least until dedicated VR stuff becomes cheaper and more accessible to more folks. I hope this helps, and I hope in the near future, frameworks such as GameModuls' mod checker/vetter,and the use of meta-tags in mods, will help folks to more easily understand the compatibility of the mod, and for what type of install the mod is designed to optimally function in. I think we will see VR'ing take off very shortly, and Bethesda's approach to VR is fairly awesome.
