Need Some Opinions + A Question

Hello

I bought this game about a week ago, and I've been playing it on and off. I played the games years ago and I don't remember much, I can't remember if I used mods or none, I do recall cheating at some point, can't remember if it was the main play thought or different.

I can't seem to make up my mind on rather or not to use mods or stick to original game with no mods what so ever.

Also I can't seem to make up my mind, on which class I want to be, but I have a better ideal now.

But want some opinions if I should use mods or not, I do remember some things during my last play though years ago.

Also I know this seems like a stupid ideal, but I think it's still on sale on steam, and since I'm trying to focus on one character and get as many achievements as possible that, I mind buy it again, simply by creating a new temporary steam account, then making a new origin account to add the keys, but I might not and just forget about the achievements side.

As for a class, I like them all, but I want to know what class should I play for returning player, I want something that's not to op, but something that doesn't suck. I want to take my time and enjoy the game but not be under powered or over powered.

Also I know some people says, to use cretin mods that don't affect the vanilla feel to the game, such as bug fixes, and few other things. Some even suggest to use mods like extra dog slot, companion fixes, combat fixes and so on.

When I played back then, pretty sure on one of the play throughs, I never had any mods that fix bugs or improve combat, I did fine without them and never notice any bugs, even if I never completed the game 100%, meaning skip some dlc, quest, ETC.

Curious if I can still play my steam version and origin version even if they are one in same meaning cd key ETC. If so I was thinking having one modded and one un modded.

Hopefully I can get some answers as soon as possible.

Well... no one can tell you whether or not you *should* play with mods. But the folk who visit the Nexus do, else they wouldn't be here.

That said, this discussion is a little dated now, but it covers a whole lot of ground including most of the issues you raise. Plus, (with one exception I'll discuss in a mo') as one would expect given the age of the game, there really haven't been that many "must have" mods produced in quite a while. The ones mentioned there are pretty much the best-in-class for what they do.

The exception is "Qwinn's Unoffcial DA:O Fixpack 2.0". It's not available on the Nexus but is still available on the (now Read-Only) BSN.

But...

Qwinn has a 1000+ post topic here discussing his work in detail over the past several months as he prepares to release

"Qwinn's Ultimate Dragon Age: Origins Fix Pack v. 3.1". He's just days (and a couple more beta tester reports) away from publishing it, and when he does it will be here.

So if you want the closest thing to a "plot-and-dialogue bug-free" experience, wait for Qwinn!

As for bugs with combat mechanics, spell effects, item buffs, etc., I use GasTank's "Dragon Age Rules Fixpack". But be careful! There are both "fixes" and "tweaks" (some might say "cheats") in that package. Fortunately, GT arranged it so the player can choose to employ only selected elements of the entire mod as desired.
