astringer0013
I can't download mods at all. This is a new account, I have not downloaded any mods on this account at all.I have tried on Chrome, Firefox, and Edge.My Flash and Java are up to date.I do not have adblock installed. If I click the download via NMM button, nothing at all happens. If I click manual, it shows the files tab but no files, just the description. My internet is fine. Not great, not horrible. No reason to believe the issue is related to my antivirus.Help.
DoctorKaizeld
Is NMM conected to FONV?Have you tried restarting your PC?Have you cleared your browsers cache?Adblockers will not stop you from downloading on the Nexus, though we do appreciate you not using it here.Have you checked your firewall and made sure it isnt blocking the downloads? astringer0013
No firewall blockage.Cleared all browser caches.Restarted multiple times.NMM is connected.
dubiousintent
Where do you have Steam and NMM installed? If to the default "C:\Program Files" folder, that's likely your problem. See the "Installing games on Windows Vista+" article in my signature and move them out of there. -Dubious-
astringer0013
NMM is not installed located on the C drive.Steam is, but I moved it and it had no effect.
astringer0013
^ I don't know what my brain was doing when I typed that. What I meant to say was, neither is installed in ProgramFiles.
dubiousintent
So, reading back over your original post you're saying that on the Nexus download page, under "Files" there are not any filenames: just the descriptions? So you can't get Nexus to download anything because you can't select anything? Apologies, I misread that initially. There should be three lines as shown in the linked sample JPG image. Nexus uses Javascript (which is built into browsers) to display the "download" elements on the page. Javascript is not the same as Java; two different tools. Check that your browser is not blocking Javascript, usually by way of a plugin other than an adblocker (such as "NoScript" for instance). Edit: Changed host of image file. -Dubious- Edited July 9, 2017 by dubiousintent
astringer0013
I can't even see the descriptions for the mods themselves. There are tabs listed as Desc-Files-Images-Posts etc etc. The default is Desc.If I click "Files" in order to get the links for the mods, it does not switch over from Desc. It still just shows the description and updates histories.Firewall isn't the issue. I don't have Steam or NMM in ProgramFiles.I have no plugins on my Chrome aside from Google Slides, Google Docs, etc.Javascript is allowed on all sites.I'm at a loss. I'm about to give up on this site.I installed NMM and Steam with FNV on my Windows 8 Toshiba a couple of years ago with absolutely no issues and no need for configuration beyond what the installation defaults to. dubiousintent
It would be a shame to exclude a major mod site for a browser issue you should fix anyway. You aren't even seeing the text on the default "Desc" page? Perhaps you might post a screenshot of what you do see on a free image hosting site like "bild.me". (Doesn't even need an account. You can't post images directly into a forum post as a new member.) Might give a better clue as to what is being blocked. Be sure to include the entire browser window in the shot. There is a built-in "Windows Snipping Tool" included since "Vista version" that lets you control what is included in a screenshot. Make sure you are supporting "HTTPS" secure connections (TLS/SSL). There is nothing particularly unusual about Nexus pages: standard HTML and Javascript elements. If you are not having the same problems on other sites, something has changed to block that behavior on Nexus in particular. Have you run a virus scan recently? -Dubious-
astringer0013
I do malware repair regularly and I know what snipping tool is.I have this issue across all browsers. http://www.bild.me/bild.php?file=2733341desc.PNGI see the text on Desc, but that's ALL I can see. (I can see the rest of the text of course but I can't switch to the other tabs, making a manual download not an option) On this link, you can see where I have the "Files" tab selected, but is displaying the exact same thing you see under the "Desc" tab.http://www.bild.me/bild.php?file=1742098modissue.PNG As for browser issues, I mean, what options are really left?I've:1.) Reset the browser2.) Checked for plugins3.) Browser not blocking Javascript Other than that I've:1.) Reset the PC2.) Re-installed NMM, Steam, and F:NV3.) Made sure NMM and Steam aren't installed under ProgramFiles4.) Anti-virus is not interfering Here is my full view directly after clicking "Download manually"http://www.bild.me/bild.php?file=1063281fullchromewin.PNGHere is my full view directly after clicking "Download with NMM"http://www.bild.me/bild.php?file=5018704fullchromewinagain.PNG I installed 0.61.6 and I had the same issue, so it's definitely on my end but damn this is frustrating. I'm out of ideas.I've been peeking around the forums and this issue isn't exclusive to me. My only question is (and i'm not sure what version it is without digging out my old laptop) I have Windows 10 on my old laptop, with the same browsers, with the same configuration, with NMM and Steam both installed under ProgramFiles, and that worked with no issue, ever. What changed while I was gone? (Was on deployment, didn't game much obv.) If you need more screenshots, let me know. Thanks for the assist.
