destruct1on
So I've been playing Skyrim for a bit now and never had this problem. Before today, nighttime is Skyrim was dark, but you could still you know.. see. Now.. it looks like this Without a torch: http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/506891210618152399/6A3A51329EE7900B90657F4B0780819D0A64E40D/With a torch: http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/506891210618153551/7063638C31792328EAC5E6A631096465412925E8/ The only things that have changed are; the monitor, which actually is on a higher brightness setting then my old one and I updated to the new Nvidia drivers.Even if I use spells when I'm outside in the dark you still cannot see. Anyone know why it suddenly is so dark I can barely see with even a torch? edit: I use spells in one hand and a dagger in the other and while shooting the spell Flames, it generates 0 light where it's being shot. gsmanners
Maybe you installed a "realistic lighting" mod and it didn't actually activate till just now.
Pifanjr
Maybe change the ingame brightness.
destruct1on
I don't have any mods that change the lighting in-game and if I turn the brightness up in game it looks all cell shaded like. I just can't figure out what is wrong with it. :(
killerman975
try turing your monitor or laptops screen brightness settings up,
meh12345
Just FYI, guys, the screenshot will be exactly the same regardless of how bright or dark your monitor is. That's not related to the rendered image. … I'd start with the traditional mod-disabling. If that doesn't work, roll back the display drivers and see if that helps. I re-installed the game and had no mods and it still does the same thing, obviously something to do with drivers or some settings, but I've checked all my Nvidia settings and nothing seems to be different. I've all but given up on it. :'( Edited February 26, 2012 by destruct1on

macdaddy123
Maybe try adding a mod that does change the lighting, then through that change settings to see if you can fix it? And that means you don't have to wash your screen out by putting the "brightness" settings on everything to max. Everyone knows by now that ENB series can be NUCLEAR bright. And there are other alternatives if that slashes your FPS too much. Edited February 28, 2012 by macdaddy123
gsmanners
The Normalized version of the No Tint and Desaturation mod can definitely make your game a lot brighter at night.
