Is there still no fix to the horrible shadow problem?

I almost want to turn them off completely again. I have every other aspect of skyrim at its peak with 4096 textures and ENB series crap to my liking. However the shadow's still look like crap. I don't want to crank them all up to 4096 either to fix the problem because the R5 Beta, put me back up to 55-60 FPS in most areas again.

If you're hitting 50+ on average, you should be safe to bump the textures up to 4096? That should still keep you solidly above 40 without significant drops.

 

In addition to that, I have fShadowBiasScale=0.35 and the fSunUpdateShadowTime and fSunUpdateThreshold both set to 1.0 to avoid flickering. With those, the shadows don't bother me much.

I'm still not satisfied with the I have shadows right now but this is what I use(and is what's important for tweaking):

 

Skyrim:

Basically I just tried to make my shadows vary blurry instead of sharp yet pixlated.

shadows are horribad between the outline on them and the hideous manner in which they were coded to display. not to mention the way the activators for dynamic lights turn on and off.

they need to be completely redone but that is not going to happen so no there is no fix for the horribad shadows

That's not the same problem. We're talking about low resolution, blocky shadows that look like they're about 16x16 even if you put them at 4096x4096. That's a good mod, but it relates to a bug and not just the consistently terrible shadows.
