Arneercool
Personally i would have canned whoever came up with the idea of a high res texture pack. Your problem is the Spring Cleaning. As i understand it, it disables something called precombined objects, making 1000 items and textures into 10.000 all the suddenly. Vivid weathers is also a fps killer in certain aspects. MissingMeshTV
I’ll concur that Spring Cleaning might be part of your troubles. The Betehsda high-res texture pack is also potentially a factor. I don’t use it, but have seen mentions that it isn’t optimized any better than that vanilla textures, which are bad to begin with. I have a rig similar to your specs with the exceptions being I have a 1070 and 48GB of RAM. I’m also using an ENB preset, but not one that is too taxing (Decent ENB).Take a look at your Fallout4Custom.ini file and see if the following is under the [General] section: bUseCombinedObjects=0 That disables the precombined meshes for the entire game and will definitely cause frame rate issues. I’m pretty sure that Spring Cleaning requires you add that line for it to work. I used Spring Cleaning for an earlier game long before I got into making mods and learning about the optimization system the game engine uses, and how crucial the precombined meshes are to good performance. Imagine my surprise that after many months on the same playthrough, looking at my custom ini file and finding that line that turns off the precombines just sitting there. I have to assume it was there because I was using Spring Cleaning, but have no recollection of ever adding it. In my new game, I do not use any scrapping mods and am much wiser about how the game optimization works. I use several texture replacements (FlaconOil, the Vivid Series, a few others I can’t recall offhand) and have them all packed into a BA2, rather than loose files. That helps with performance as well. Your shadow and godray settings are also a factor. If you have everything set on Ultra, even a 1080 will sputter. Try this batch file for your godrays:http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/15211/? It will make some tweaks that let you have godray set to Ultra, but not be a performance killer. Having shadow quality and distance set to Ultra is also a performance hit, even with a 1080. Try setting them to Medium. Since you are on a 10-series card, go into your Nvidia control panel and activate Fast Sync if you haven’t done so already. I’ve found it does offer some smoother performance over standard old V-Sync. Using G-Sync if you have a G-Sync monitor helps too, just keep your fame rate capped at 60 as you have indicated you already do. Using all of the above, in my new game I’m able to get a more or less solid 60fps (with occasional dips into the low 50s) in the heart of downtown Boston. I’m truly amazed at the performance difference from my earlier game…like…stunned that I can get a solid 60 outside Goodneighbor near Mass Fusion, where if I got 40 before it was a good day. Keep in mind that even if you do get your game fine tuned to the performance you want, if you use any mods making worldspace changes that don’t regenerate the precombined data, you will be back in the same situation you are now in the areas where changes are made…just be aware of that. I recently had stop using a mod that I absolutely love because my fame rates in the areas that it edits just tank to the point that the game was nearly unplayable. Without that mod activated, I’m back up to 60fps in the same areas. Not sure how much of this will be helpful, as everyone set up is different and has quirks that others don’t, but this is how I’ve been able to solve the FPS issues I was having in my previous game. The main thing is to check that .ini file to see if your precombines are turned off. EDIT: I should mention that I'm playing at 1080p on a 144Mhz monitor. Your screen resolution you use for your game will also have an effect your frame rates.

sopmac45
I do have the Nvidia Geforce 1070, 16gb RAM, i7-6600 and SSD hard drive and recently I overclocked my video card ... also, I have the mod WOTC ( War of the Commonwealth ) setup to Weekend Warrior which makes the mod to trigger more spawns and higher amount of enemies and still, my fps are ( almost all the time ) 60, except in certain areas like the city and others but overall, it is running very smooth .... however, I DO NOT have any texture mod installed and I do not have : Vivid Weathers, WET, Enhanced Water Two, Grasslands, etc, etc, etc, etc ...... and the reason why is because I found out those mods were causing my game to be slower and sometimes they caused CTD's .... .... then I decided to re-start a new game and avoid all those mods ... believe it or not, my game option are : 2560x1440 with the AA set to OFF and god rays set to OFF as well and everything else, in ultra. Let me explain a bit about the AA filter that Nvidia suggest to play with set to the ON position ... I am a photographer and for example, the Nikon camera D800 do not have an AA filter in the sensor and in combination with the 36 megapixels it is coming with, makes this camera to shoot very crispy and sharp pictures. This camera is kind of a dedicated camera to photograph landscapes and they look incredible sharp and very detailed. Well, the same principle apply to the video card and that is why I decided not to install any of those mods ( textures and graphic ) and setup my video card to the mentioned settings and my graphics looks incredible sharp and crispy. By getting rid of those texture and graphic mods, I gave room to WOTC which is a very heavy mod that will put your rig to a test. I do not have Spring Cleaning so I cannot advice on how this mod performs but other in this thread already gave you their opinion about it, however, I do have Scrap Everything, Place everywhere, Extended Settlements and other mods dedicated to build houses and stuff which are more important to me. So far, my game is running very smooth and as I said, almost all the time at 60 fps ... last but not the least, I do not really care about mods that enhance water because I do not live, walk or fight in the water so IMHO, there is no need to have any mod that alters the water resolution, on the contrary, by having those mods, you are stressing your video card and that is precisely that you do not want to do so your game will run smoothly. I appreciate what the author of those mods did for us, but they are not necessary to me. You do have a very good video card and much better rig than mine and you should not have any issues with fps. I invite you to give it a shot at my suggestions and you can come back to this thread and tell me if your game does not look awesome without those texture / graphic mods with the settings that I use. Happy gaming ...
