four2nothin
I've watched tutorials on how to swap materials but most of them involve REPLACING textures. I want to (for example) make several copies of the overdue books in the creation kit and swap out each of the copies' texures/material so that when the player sees them in the game, he/she will be seeing the new texture I added as well as the vanilla overdue book. But also, when the player views it in their inventory it will still show my custom texture. I DO NOT want to replace vanilla textures. I just want to add my own. Simple, brief steps and/or an exact tutorial would be much appreciated.
itsbooby
I was literally about to post the same exact thing. I made a custom helmet which uses the model of the Assault Gas Mask. I have already created a new custom texture replacement for this, but needed to know how to make a material swap only apply to the custom helmet, not replace all Assault Gas Mask textures... https://wiki.nexusmods.com/index.php/Creating_an_armour_for_Fallout_4._Part_3#BGSM_Materials Edited June 17, 2018 by itsbooby
Deleted15964729User
I was literally about to post the same exact thing. I need to do the same exact thing you want to do, but with Armor such as the Assault Gas Mask. I made a custom helmet which uses the model of the Assault Gas Mask. I have already created a new custom texture replacement for this, but I need to know how to make a material swap only apply to the custom helmet, NOT REPLACE all Assault Gas Mask textures... I am literally so close to having custom textures for my mod's custom items, yet I am still so far. Can someone please tell us how to do this simply and efficiently if you know what me and the OP are talking about? I still need helphttps://wiki.nexusmods.com/index.php/Using_Material_Swaps_in_Fallout_4https://wiki.nexusmods.com/index.php/Creating_an_armour_for_Fallout_4._Part_3#BGSM_Materials Made an example plugin ages ago you can take a look at. Can't really explain it better than those tutorials you linked so take a look at the plugin http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/13912
