Adipose
For economy of effort, I tend to run characters that focus on heavy armor, greatswords, and destruction. I also prefer about four female followers equipped in the same manner. Which gets me to the point of all this: It's rather difficult to find female follower mods that specialize in heavy armor and two hand weapons. Is it because modders, as a group, hold the view that women aren't strong enough for heavy armor and great weapons?
DoctorKaizeld
Eh not really. I think its more that they prefer mages or light armor classes due to the lack of good heavy armors. Though do you have Poet? Shes a two handed barbarian if i recall correctly.
MrNeedles
<sarcasm on> Geez, you're acting as if there was a tendency to reduce female characters to oversexualized bimbos. What will you demand next, depth of character? <sarcasm off> In all seriousness though, I don't think 'modders as a group' necessarily think that women aren't strong enoug to wield big weapons and carry heavy armor.I suppose the general preference simply goes into the opposite direction out of purely aesthetic reasons (bikinis instead of plate armor, for example -and I suppose from there on it's only logical that lighter clothing dictates lighter gear/weaponry).In this regard, parts of the modding community might simply reflect tendencies and preferences which are also largely present in the general population. I definitely don't mean to say that everyone making these mods is necessarily sexist, but I do think that the continued reproduction of certain character archetypes (cute-but-sexy girl as opposed to gruff'n'tough elite-merc-ranger-sniper dude) might show how certain ideas of gender identity are espescially prominent in society. Maybe. I guess. Btw., back to the topic, there's always Uthgerd the Unbroken! And she's easy to recruit, too - Just a barbrawl away!
Adipose
Oh yes, Uthgerd's been one of my basic go-to followers for years. There are somewhere between five and ten that come up to my requirements and I've got most of them bookmarked. There's a very good Dark Elf mod named Areth Selas that I"m quite fond of, also Deadheart's "Asha" who's part of a group of mod companions, and a few others. There are four or five Japanese done mods that look and perform very well, however, while sans culotte, they don't bounce and that's a deal breaker for me.
