Can you use FO4Edit to make an armor piece moddable at the armor workbench?

I downloaded an armor mod, but the helmet doesn't show up when I use the armor workbench. I'd really like to add ballistic weave to this helmet and I've tried looking through FO4Edit, but came up empty.

I think the recipe needs to be added using the CK.
