NPC Menus Damaged

I have a problem of menu options in NPC / Follower and other dialogue / choices vanishing before my eyes in game.

 

I am well into my loaded, smooth SSE game but I am finding this fault increasing all the time. The game is close to unplayable now.

 

Talk to an NPC, a follower, your horse (Convenient Horses), etc., and many dialogue / interaction menus have lost their options.

If I restart the game the options will work. After a few minutes they disappear again.

 

Convenient Horses is a good example: click on "Ride Horse" and the menu tries to load, then fails.

Another NPC, "Goonie" has her menu options arrive, only to disappear leaving one option only.

 

Might anyone have experienced this and know the solution?

 

This is a quick ask before I trawl through the usual track the faulting mod down process...(groan). :sick:

I'm following this up because I am STILL having major dialogue problems, even on a new game!

 

I can play the latest game save for 15-20 minutes, and then my dialogue menu choices start getting mucked up.

An NPC might lose one of their greeting options.

A follower suddenly loses the "Part Ways" option.

Convenient Horses menu vanishes completely.

A follower's "open inventory" option will vanish.

 

Sometimes these options will actually vanish before my eyes as I look through the menu!

 

Please - can anyone offer any suggestions how / where I can track the cause of this? This error takes a few hours to appear in a new game, so it is not easy to test for it.

Hmm - I was hoping someone might be able to help? My dialogue menus are:

• Follow me I need your help
• I need you to do something
• Argh where has it gone?
• There used to be something about inventory but it vanished

Epic gap of nothingness, follower stands looking at me like I'm dumb

I've been looking at it but I have no idea. When I crashed upon getting close to Irileth I started by disabling all mods, getting a clean save and going over them one by one, increasing my enabled mods by every try to see when it crashed. So perhaps you have to do that too. It's tedious but it fixed my problem :smile:

 

Have you tried without AFT?

Yep - tedious alright! Been there, done that, written the novel. In this case, the bug does not kick in until a few game hours have passed. Normally I'd pop up a parallel game in MO2, build the mods up and catch the culprit.

But with this slow burn of a problem I could be in my grave by the time I track it. :sad:

 

I've got a question in on the AFT mod in the hope JohnNav will spot it and lend his knowledge. He helped bring that one over (the FakeTails version). JohnNav is pretty close to guru level in my humble opinion!

That's a shame, mine kicked in as soon as I got within spitting range of Irileth. I hope you get it solved though :)
