seventytw0
I've been looking for a while now for less flamboyant armor mods. Specifically I wanted some type of white light armor that didn't have random spikes everywhere or giant shoulder pauldrons. People are obsessed with shoulder pauldrons for whatever reason. I was looking for something similar to the hold guards armor but with sleeves and no 2d belts that look like they were sewn into the armor. I'm also playing a female character and the amount of skimpy armor mods vs lore friendly mods is sickening. I don't know if everyone just plays one handed and fondles themselves with the other but I really don't understand the allure of controlling a half naked stripper who fights dragons, draugr, etc. And even the male armor mods have some weird obsession with making everything spiky and over sized. I cant help but think they're trying to compensate for something. I understand that some people just prefer that look especially considering the setting of Skyrim, but I'd never think that it would just consistently dominate the armor category. Most of them look like they were designed by a 12 year old who's favorite cartoon character is johnny bravo. i recently tried getting into making my own armor but the sheer amount of time and effort required is daunting as I just downloaded Skyrim CK, and I can't believe people spend so much time on such conceptually lacking armors. /end rant Mods that I've looked at and have had to settle for are the wayfarer coat (honestly this mod looks great if I wasn't so picky about the color and the bulkiness, but it makes sense since Skyrim is cold af) some of the immersive armors like highway mail are okay, and there's a couple others that i can't remember. I've repeatedly gone through the Nexus and lowered my expectations and i'm really disappointed at the lack of modest, lore-friendly armor mods (like going through the fridge and there is no food then the pantry no food then back to the fridge). Something like Altair's robes from the first Assassin's Creed minus the waist trainer and hood is probably the best way to express what i'm specifically hoping for. But at the very least let's get some different armor. tl;dr Less "My shoulder pauldrons are bigger than your shoulder pauldrons" and less "My bikini daedric armor makes my tits look great!" Let's get some realistic, lore-friendly, high-quality armor mods. PLEASE
Skagens
Unfortunately, the majority of the armor mods on the nexus are those you described, non-lore friendly skimpy anime costumes. Like you, I'm not sure why everyone is so obsessed with skimpy clad women but hey, to each their own. I can't speak much for the light armor category since in every play-through I only use Heavy armor, but since you're looking for a white light armor, the only thing I can think of is the Ancient Falmer armor set. I found a mod that sort of makes it a full set but it's not particularly lore friendly and it doesn't look like its available for SE. It's basically just ebony armor. That's the best I can do based on what you want unfortunately. I've been wanting to get into making my own armors and objects for a while now but I never have. If you're willing to play with heavy armor, then there are a few I think are top tier. The ones I actually use are the Stormlord Armor by gechbal and the Dragonbone Ebonsteel Armor by Dreogan. There's also another good one called Dragon Carved Armor by killuaxx but I don't use it anymore since it's a bit redundant. The only well made light armors I'm aware of is the Tribunal Robes by Natterforme and the Bosmer Armor Pack by maty743. They're not at all what you want but it's what's available. nightscrawl
It will be helpful for you to be able to convert some Oldrim mods for your own use. Typically, this only involves running the armor meshes through SSE NIF Optimizer, and resaving the esp in the new 64-bit CK. That's all you need to do for many Oldrim mods. I converted Rough Leather Armor, and it works fine in SSE. There is also this Chain Armor, which looks nice on male and female. If you're finding SSE options lacking, browsing through the wider variety of Oldrim mods may be helpful. Yes, there are a ton of skimpy mods, and mods that require some body mods (even if they aren't skimpy), but the higher amount means a greater chance you will find something you like.
