Oblivion Crashes...

It's not that we hate the no cd cracks, we hate what some of them do to your game. The warez sites are notorious for including viruses and other junk along with programs they have. Mostly to give the Non insiders grief for having the audacity to even try to come to 'Their' site. Real geeks filter out the garbage. However, many of the no cd cracks are based on the D2D version which can't be patched and has problems with some mods. There are some good ones out there though. If you found a good one consider yourself lucky.

Ha, yeah, I was gonna say, I must have gotten lucky. I don't have the D2D version. But then again if I did, I wouldn't have DVDs anyway I guess. :)

I can see why they don't really want us playing without the CDs/DVDs, but it's such a pain swapping them around. And they're noisy and slow when anything actually does need to be loaded from them (God forbid!).

I played the Xbox version to death two years ago when it was first released. I with Xbox 360 games had install options. Even if I had to delete and reinstall stuff all the time (the hard drive is absurdly dinky), it would be better than loading stuff off the noisy, kinda junky DVD drive. :S Grand Theft Auto IV seems to load entirely off the DVD. Runs really well, actually, nice streaming technology, but the drive is load and gives an error every 8 hours or so. Can't help but wish I could install it, or that it would at least cache the way Oblivion 360 does.

Anyway. Pointless ramble.

And I have definitely spent more time getting Oblivion to work than playing it. But I spent enough time playing the 360 version that I guess it balances out. :) I'm still having a ball with the PC version now, either way. I had no idea what I was missing.
