The Brotherhood hate thread.

My very first go around with the Fallout 4 factions I went with the BoS because of my experience with them in 3 ( didn't include NV because they were hiding pansies then), and hoped that they weren't going to be BoS of old Fallout lore.

Nope.

The moment I met Maxson I knew s*** was gonna go downhill fast. I managed to save Danse, who even after finding out he was a synth, and me saving his ass from Maxson's order 66 on him, still continued, as you said, to spout his stupid lines about Ad Victorium, and Brother hood is best hood nonsense.

Ever since that playthrough I have never sided with the Brotherhood since. I always go out of my way to kill BoS members. I always blow up the Prdwyn. If Danse wasn't protected, I'd off his big stupid ass too, which is a shame considering he is the only BoS member in the game to treat you with any sort of respect at all it seemed.

I despise zealots in real life, religious ones, political ones, brand loyal ones, so at least in a game, where I am in control for the most part, it's an easy choice.

Death to the Brotherhood of Steel.

Saving Danse?Absurd. That idiot doesnt worth saving.

In New Vegas when you first meet them they slap a slave collar on you. Thanks guys.

I played F3 and they seemed ok people there.

And in tis game.... they have become totally insane.

When I listened to Maxton speech he reminded me of some failed Austrian painter.

We all know who.

Danse is the snuggliest NPC in the game. The guy follows you around telling you about how your instincts are on point and you're a great asset to the brotherhood, then he pulls you aside to apologize for being too hard on you. Yeah, Danse, stop being such an asshole, you didn't even make me breakfast in bed this morning.

The poor guy had a psychotic breakdown after Maxon turned on him. I barely coaxed him back from suicide and he has since descended into a deep state of denial, but I'm sure that if I keep him wrapped in warm blankets he'll eventually come around.

The rest of the Brotherhood has always been pretty dodgy, IMO, but at least in Fallout3 and New Vegas there was room for interpretation. Fallout4's Brotherhood, not so much. I mean they greet you at the door with a speech about unquestioning compliance and their primary objective is genocide. Really makes for a deep and nuanced gameplay experience /s.

Had I known that Maxson was going to take Lyon's Brotherhood and turn them into crusading zealots rather than benevolent knights... I would have given Colonel Autumn the Project Purity Code in Fallout 3 and let them execute my character. I went through all that crap in Fallout 3... just for Maxson to come along after the credits rolled to build his little empire on the back of my hard work. That little sh%t would have been nothing had my F3 character not brought the Capitol Wasteland back from the brink of total destruction.

you got that wrong, from BoS standpoint

in F3, ie. Capital Wasteland chapter under Lyons went wrong and rogue, betraying core principles of the brotherhood

same story with Chicago chapter (Tactics)

Mojave chapter was more or less on the path

While Maxon is a redeemer in BoS eyes, fixed things that Lyons broke

no idea why people try to paint them good guys, they never were,

maybe because in original Fallout they opposed Master as player did, that made BoS a kind of uneasy ally
