I saw the download spinner. mod manager installed, should i see these mods in the game menu MODS? or will they start on their own? Thanks

What you'll see in the MODS menu in-game are mods available on Bethesda.net, not Nexusmods.

If you want to use mods available on Nexusmods, you've got to browse this site, and download them first using NMM, then install them.

I would just add that the top 100 or so for the game of your choice would be an excellent place to start looking.

Actually, you will still see the mod list in the game menu. If using NMM I'd avoid even going to that selection in the game though.

I'd recommend getting Fallout 4 Script Extender (F4SE) and launching the game through that to avoid the fallout4launcher.exe which can mess up mod settings.

 

if you don't want to use F4SE, create a shortcut to the fallout4.exe and start the game from that to bypass the fallout4launcher.exe

have a read of this as well before you start adding any mods.

it will make your life a lot easier in the long run and it will make problems less likely to occur as well as making them easier to fix.
