Greslin Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 Hey all, I've just started wading into the XCOM 2 modding pool. My past modding experience has been in Fallout, and I've recently done my first X2 mod (the Rorschach/Watchmen voicepack). But now I'm trying to figure out Unreal scripting. What I'm trying to do as a first X2 code mod is something that screws with everyone's detection and visibility in the tactical layer, depending on the weather conditions. Rain/night, everyone sees less, increasing stealth options but also increasing the risk of just stumbling over a patrol. Sunny/clear/day, increased visibility and less chance of stealthing your way across an open plain. So far, it seems like a decent option is to somehow use X2Ability to implement something akin to HackRewards, tying detection changes to players and ADVENT at the beginning of a tactical session. How exactly to do this, I don't know yet. Thoughts? Am I even remotely on the right track here? Ideas much appreciated!
