WafflesTheWaffle
I just started up a new game of Skyrim and have almost 8 hours into it. In this version of Skyrim SE the Khajiit Caravan will not set up camp. They just stand outside of whiterun in the same spot, motionless. You can talk to them and trade with them, but it is just annoying how buggy and not immersive it is to have them standing there all the time doing nothing. I tried sleeping, waiting, completing other quests, fast traveling, and even enabling/disabling each Khajiit npc. The only thing that gets them to move is disabling and then enabling each one in console, but then they just walk towards Markarth and do the same exact thing. When I fast travel enough they eventually come back to whiterun and stand motionless again. I have tried disabling mods, but then my save file says it is corrupted. Here are some screenshots and my mod load order. Any help will be appreciated. Xaa1962
I realize this answer is three years late, but here we go: I found out what causes this recently. Basically, at some point, something attacked them at JUST the right moment to interrupt the part of their quest script that sends the trigger to the marker that enables all the stuff they use. You don't have to be near them for this to happen, just close enough for them to be loaded and active, and they get attacked by something (dragon attack, vampire attack, or just random mobs wandering around). Afterwards, they won't set up camp, anywhere, ever again, because the quest script that enables the camp (and, later, disables it when they leave) is stuck. The solution is to manually enable the marker via console commands while they are where they're supposed to be. Once done, the quest script will proceed normally. Note: I am not talking about the problem of showing up just as they arrive and they haven't set up camp YET, this is specifically addressing the problem of the camp never being set up AT ALL, no matter how much time passes. They arrive, stand there for a day or so, then wander off to their next destination. While it is possible to arrive and the area hasn't reloaded yet and thus the camp hasn't appeared yet, that issue clears up by itself - often just by you walking into the nearby city (or any other area where you pass a loading screen), fiddling about for awhile in an interior zone, then going back outside. As far as specifically HOW to fix it, well, it depends on which area they're camped at. For Whiterun, for example, you open the console, type PRID 10372F, then type ENABLE and pop! The camp appears and they go about their business normally from there on out. The other spots they camp at have different ID numbers for the markers, and I haven't looked them up in the Creation Kit at present - but, that's the answer. TollHouseBookie
I realize this answer is three years late, but here we go: Interesting, and thanks for the update. I'll second the effectiveness of this solution; I had this same issue (caravan standing around indefinitely without setting up camp), with the same cause (in my case, the interruption was a dragon attack event just outside of Windhelm) and ended up discovering the same fix (enabling the marker via console). bientje
Hello, This reply is hopeful. Do you think it is possible to create such a fix for PS4 and upload to Betheada.net? I have the same problem with the Khajiit sitting outside Whiterun, but withouts tents. They also never move. I would be very grateful.

TollHouseBookie
How do you get the ID numbers for the other spot they camp at? I have the same problem with Ma'dran outside of Windhelm Here's all the "Caravan...CampEnable" IDs for all the cities where the caravans camp: Dawnstar:10332A Markarth:1030E2 Riften:10311B Solitude:104AD6 Whiterun:10372F Windhelm:103774 (If you want to check my work, here's one way to find the information in Creation Kit: load Skyrim.esp as master file, go to View->Object Window, type "Caravans" in "Filter" field in upper left of Object Window, click on quest object "Caravans" (Form ID "0003ACDB"), go to "Scripts" (top of Quest Object: Caravans window, button furthest to the right), select "CaravanScript" in column to the left, click "Properties" button just to the right of it, then look for the six "CampEnableMarker..." items on that list. You'll see the IDs.)
SonofThunderCatholic
How exactly do I type the console command? In my case it happened in Windhelm, so I tried typing "prid 103774" and it didn't work. Am I doing something wrong or it won't work because I am not playing on Special Edition?
