Storm Raven
If I think a mod deserves critisism I'm not hesitating, and if you want to be bastards about it, ok. There's other forums. Goodbye and Good Luck, Luscilla Storm Raven 8)
stephanie
Wow! I'm happy I missed this topic. Anyway, just in case "Luscilla" comes back and re-reads any of this, here's what I do about it: I've had similar problems with various mods, and it's always been caused by a file either missing or in the wrong folder. In the case of a missing file, I look for an updated version or a forum topic that helps me get the file. When files go to the wrong folder ... I've started to not trust winrar to unzip files to the proper folders. I always unzip to a temp folder then place all the files manually. It works fine for me .. :) Steph. Storm Raven
Steph, I don't even trust 7-Zip for that, now I am not saying I ever had a problem, but I like to "see to it" and so I do it manually. *the old man grins* Storm Raven 8)
stephanie
I think most of us do that without thinking, SR. Then when a 'noob' has trouble and asks about it we sometimes forget .. *The young girl grins back* :)
crashpilot
The mod community for Oblivion is beginning to irritate me... ...maybe we need better modders. Alongside this it's difficult to get any help with a problem such as this...this topic is an example.I'm realy close to forsaking the modding scene altogether.....and message forums. You can not expect instant answers to your questions and problems. Last night, you were not the only person I was trying to help. A lot of the people here will go out of their way to help people fix their game, but you have to be patient. One guy was having so much trouble that I ended up making a video to show him what to do, by the time I came back to help you again, as I was posting, lightning damaged my internet satellite. The repairman just replaced it an hour ago. However, due to something that was brought to my attention just now by the modders Aoikani and Alienslof, I am adopting a new policy. I will not continue to help anyone who flames/disrespects a modder or trashtalks the community, I don't care how small, I don't care how right you think you are and I don't care if you type "LOL" after you say it. I ask that all other helpers and tech-support members follow suite. These people who think the world revolves around them are driving away our modders and we do not need them here. I could not agree more, what this community needs is not better Modders but users with better behaviour and appreciation for the free gifts all of us get here. The Modders spend their time to create a MOD and sometimes even more time by answering questions on the forum that would not be asked if the user would bother to read the documentation or follow the respective discussion a bit more than just what is on first forum page; what more can one expect? I am not a Modder myself but I do appreciate and enjoy the work of others and for that I am grateful, if I find a bug or something odd I try to make my point in a constructive way, maybe she/he has good reasons for it, after all it is the Modders work, not mine. Last but not least, if I come across something I do not like, I move on or I delete it without stupid comments, everyone has the right of its own taste but no one has the right to force his taste upon others.
