Matterspourington
:wallbash: AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!, ok... I started making MOD's again after a busy year and I eventually got the time to spend making a decent MOD. I spent about 4 hours making this mod for oblivion and I was fairly pleased with myself, I made a cave with a dungeon full of zombies and other stuff, and not only that, it worked with no flaws! I sometimes like to look at my character in 3rd person view, and so while I was mosying around the IC I noticed that if I went through a small doorspace or under an archway, or even moved the camera into a wall, the screen would flash black until I moved again. Because I generally play in 1st person view, this didn't really bother me that much... until it started happening in 1st person view if I moved too much. SOO, being the idiot I am, I re-installed oblivion and updated it..... now those MOD's I grafted over for hours don't work!!! (neither do official one's like Vile Lair) When I say they don't work, I mean, I can open oblivion launcher and check them off, but they just don't work...I've tried:- - Using the normal exe, instead of the cracked version.... but no luck- Using fresh mods from the original .7z archives I've kept from previously downloaded MOD's... but that didn't work either!- Activating the MOD and saving the game, then re-loading without the MOD to see if it even read it. (usually it'll say something like "Some Content is Unavailable, Do you want to Continue Loading") but still nothing!!!- Making a simple MOD (placing a random barrel in Cheydinhal).... nothing!- Cleaned the Oblivion registry keys and re-installed oblivion AGAIN!.... STILL nothing!- System Restore.... Just made the problem worse- Tried without the patch altogether... yep, you guessed it..... NOTHING! Now I get this new bug, it makes any mage apprentice (in the green robes) at the Arcane university have a white mouth, white eyes, white ears and a white weapon. Also when I cast a frost spell on somebody, their ears, helmet, eyes turn white for a moment, then it fades away. (with the apprenices its constant)... I mean.. WTF!! I really need to know if I'm just being a spastic or if there is actually a solution!any help is appreciated!Thanx!
Jesse_Dylan
Good Lord... Nothing to say to help you out, but you have my sympathies. I can't imagine what went wrong. When you reinstalled everything, did you try reinstalling all the mods as well? Probably, but I can't think of anything else. I wonder what would happen if you deleted the whole works and reinstalled from scratch? Or is that what you did? Because I don't think reinstalling over top of your old installation will help. Sorry, I'm useless. It stinks this is happening to you. I would probably cry.

Well, yes, you see I've done all sorts and now I have problems with my PC that require me to re-install windows :verymad: .... I'm not very lucky to say the least... Although I wouldn't be re-installing windows if my PC wasn't playing up, but I'm just hoping it will fix oblivion too!!! I'll tell you if it works... but if it dosen't I'll proberbly cry aswell, lol. Thanx for your comment, keep em' coming!
Jesse_Dylan
I bet that will fix it! I'd save everything I wanted to keep on an external hard disk (or something), run a thorough virus check on it, and wipe your main computer drive clean! I'm sure you've already thought all this through, though. Good luck!!! I think you will have success. Darn finicky PCs. It seems like they all get weird after a while. Aoikani
I'm not sure what you modded and/or in trying to fix things whether you've lost some DDS files (typically things turn white when DDS files disappear) or possibly have conflicting mods or for that matter.. hmm, I don't know. But, don't re-install windows!! :) there's an easy way to do this with less headaches. since what it sounds like you've really got things messed up.... so I will recommend that you follow this process. 1)uninstall Oblivion then delete the whole folder \oblivion\data\ etc......2)do not delete your save games, but consider the option you may have to anyway. do not delete your compressed mods including your mods.3)RE-install Oblivion and the Latest version patch found at TheElderScrolls.com4) then unpack your mods you want one at a time, using Obmm to check conflictions and to manage your files5) one last time, run through the sewer dungeon.. save it and put it away somewhere and keep a record of what mods you have activated when changing characters or starting new games. Matterspourington
I wasn't installing windows for oblivion, it was for a different reason, but either way, I did, and it seemed to fix everything, thanx alot for your help tho. :thanks: UUBBKK1, about that.... err.. try what he said I should do, that should help! if not loads of people have that problem, this forum should have countless threads about it. Thanx Alot!
