Adipose
Currently I have, at best, a mid level comp. What that means is that I avoid mods which are complex, invasive, and far reaching. Why? I just don't have enough vram to make them work properly, without causing other effects such as pale violet portions of interiors, gear, weapons, etc. ad infinitum. Red diamonds with exclamation marks in begin to overlay random npcs. Weird, multicolored npcs and followers begin to show up. The list goes on and on. In addition, no matter how carefully the mod has been crafted, if it's sufficiently large and comprehensive there will be glitches here and there. Almost guaranteed. Murphy's Law goes into effect consistently.
TeofaTsavo
Not a reflection on the mod or Author, but something like Open Cities will make my potato comp ignite and fall over. As far as texture resolution, I'm constantly juggling to use the smallest acceptable textures on the world so I can enhance the resolution on my characters and things I care more about. I've gone so far as to remove or reduce dust, pine needles, falling leaves and other "clutter" objects. I'm also convinced that my playstyle does not help, as I spend hours and months wandering around on a saved game. Even without bloating, my save sizes eventually get to a wobbly point. Dunno if it is an actual thing or not. Edited August 2, 2017 by TeofaTsavo
Novem99
I avoid mods like Perma, Frostfall and Realistic Needs and Diseases because 1. they are pretty invasive2. everytime someone starts a thread à la "Please help! My Skyrim crashes!" these mods are ALWAYS in the load order3. I'm simply not into these kind of mods (especially those wannabe realism mods)
