Kythrius
Thats like giving a Cat a rating of 1 for not being a Fish, because it can't swim. What if its a catfish? Getting back on topic, perhaps you should implement a system that allows you to suspend IP addresses from rating files temporarily(perhaps people caught abusing the system earn a 3 day vacation.) IndorilTheGreat
Thats like giving a Cat a rating of 1 for not being a Fish, because it can't swim. What if its a catfish? Getting back on topic, perhaps you should implement a system that allows you to suspend IP addresses from rating files temporarily(perhaps people caught abusing the system earn a 3 day vacation.) I have already suggested this (I don't think anyone noticed... ). In quote from another topic: "Hey, I've got a great new idea for the Strike System: 1st Strike and you're banned for a day (a full 24 hours). 2nd Strike and you're banned for a week (7 days). 3rd Strike and you're gone for good. Well, what do you think? It would teach people not to flame and attack modders and other members. It was also the same rules for my Swim Team. It worked quite well if you ask me... ;) "
Halororor
I think from henceforth if a mod doesn't break your game, like erase all your saves, turn remove your uber sword of midgit might, or kill all the npc's in game and you can't fix it by disabling the mod then you should be banned if you're flaming. Rather pm the person and tell them of the problem you encountered in a civilised way, without blaming them, all people make mistakes. These people dedicate a lot of time to making these mods and you should be grateful that they release them on the net for free. They don't earn poo from it, the only thing they might earn is respect and appreciation. If you can't show either then rather just shut up. Circuitous
But... I don't get it. Being flamed is awesome. Someone's making a blind leap in judgment and is going out of their way to insult and berate you, potentially earning them the ire of countless other users - you know what they're saying is inaccurate, or at the very worst overblown. In fact, the only person who probably even remotely believes them is, well, them. They're going to all this trouble because of something you did, said, or created - your work moved them to perform an action, against what one hopes is their better judgment. Being flamed is like being shown that you have power over people. I wish I got flamed more often, really. But hey, do whatever ya want with your mods. They're yours, ain't they? hsandman_2
Sadly being a good moder and having a good working common sense don't always go hand in hand.Realy. I see 90+% of people being very apriciative of the work moders do. The rest -10% are spoiled brats. Simple. Unfortunatly that is just part/fact of life. Not everyone is the "good" guy. Concentrate on the positive... 90% Ignore the tantrums of the (minority) kids... unless you have such low self esteem to believe that they are right..
