GameDev1995
(SOLVED)Hey guys im having a problem when it comes to getting my custom armor into the game. Now the problem I am having is due to the skin weights I believe, I didn't have this problem the first time I got my armor into the game but now that I have created one that is made up of different armors it has this issue. When my character walks the mesh is all over the place: My current workflow is as follows: Archive2 > Extract Armor Mesh > Outfit Studio (Export mesh to OBJ) > Maya (Import OBJ and create new armor) > Maya (Export OBJ with new armor) > Outfit Studio (Import both Custom and Vanilla Armor mesh) > Outfit Studio (Copy Bone Weights to new mesh and Export as Nif) > NifSkope (Open both vanilla and custom armor files, copy new mesh over, assign skin and material nodes to new mesh, assign proper name, save as nif and import into engine). Can you guys help please? Edited August 4, 2017 by GameDev1995
GameDev1995
I fixed it, I imported the file back into Outfit Studio and reassigned the weights. Doing it twice seems to do the trick. Edited August 4, 2017 by GameDev1995
BlahBlahDEEBlahBlah
Outfit Studio can be finicky sometimes. So yeah, like you've discovered already, I've learned to not freak out (nearly) as much before just going back and trying one more time....sometimes even a third time. =P Edit: I should note that it is still one of the most helpful downloads I've ever come across in modding, such a good, easy to use application. BlahBlahDEEBlahBlah
Another helpful thing I've found (to check before I freak out) is on export, if everything is really outta whack, verify the exported bone/node orientation against a vanilla piece or skeleton. Case in point, last time I did a skin for a cat, every single bone was flipped on its head...annoying, but straightforward to fix at least. ...nothing is perfect. =)
