BurningKatanaa
I dont feel like laying the peices out section by section in photoshop (not to mention these dont work right as textures right now), and found a tutorial that recommended Mudbox. I have a model that I made in a Cinema 4D trial, saved as a wavefront, and wish to simply project an image onto it... Appearently this can be done in mudbox, however... I am using the developer's edition of Windows 8 right now and it isnt able to install Mudbox. I was wondering if anyone has a recommendation for a replacement... To clarify, if I must... I'm looking for a texture editing program that will project an image onto an object and create a texture, as shown in this Tutorial. That's the tutorial I found. thanks in advance for replies. ghosu
There is a download link for SCULPTRIS in the video description of my tutorial, never tried it but it looks similar to Mudbox and it is for free.
BurningKatanaa
Sculptris doesnt have the function that I need unfortunatly. I can paint a texture on but I cant superimpose my already-made but not laid out texture onto it. Unless that function is RRRRREAAAAALLY well hidden, or, well... broken. Now hopefully my windows 8 isnt going to hate that too (damn my no-budget-for-os-and-wanting-windows-64bit-and-not-getting-boot-partitions-to-read-correctly-ness....ness) Edited February 28, 2012 by BurningKatanaa

BurningKatanaa
this program seems INCREDBILY glitchy to me... someone out there has to have a non-mudbox reccomendation :P
ghosu
Haha, that's why i use Mudbox...zBrush has got more functions (especially when it comes to sculpting) and is an extraordinary program BUT i can't handle it - maybe there are some better UI plugins out there, i'm just too silly to use it. And here is another one: http://3d-coat.com/ www.youtube.com/watch?v=QZlirrE48e4 greetings Edited February 29, 2012 by ghosu
